Hi guys!
I’m back with another What I Ate Wednesday. As this marks one month of me kicking my sugar cravings by going sugar free during the work week.
Take a look at how eat sugar-free but still get a taste of sweetness in my life!
(psst…the secret is fruit and lots of water)
For breakfast, I had the normal oatmeal with fruit. Yesterday, I added strawberries and a spoonful of plain non-fat Greek yogurt for added protein. I had that with a peeled and sliced orange and a cup of coffee.
For lunch, I had a grab-bag of randomness. I can always tell when I need to hit the grocery because my meals start to get like this, just random stuff together. Anyways, I had some leftover quinoa salad, an egg, and a ham and cheese quesadilla.
As a midday snack, I made juice of carrots, celery, and orange juice. I am always amazed how fruit and vegetable juice can hold me over for long periods of time. It’s just juice! It doesn’t seem like I should get that full.
For dinner I had another “what’s-left-in-the-fridge?” type of meal. I made a spinach and potato hash with one full egg and two egg whites. On the side I had a large handful of cherry tomatoes, one of my favorite snacks. I think I have demonstrated that I really need to go to the grocery store.
Throughout the day I try to drink plenty of water, carrying around my water bottle with me. At night, I also like to have a cup of tea. Desert teas (decaf before bed) are a great way I trick myself into thinking that I have had a sweet treat for the night without the sugar or the calories.
And that is it for another WIAW!
