What I Ate Wednesday 5.11.14 – Getting Back on the Wagon

Hi guys!

I’m back again with What I Ate Wednesday. This past week was a bit of a flop, diet-wise. I majorly fell off the wagon, eating all kinds of sweets, processed sugar, and processed carbs (aka white bread). When I decided to stop eating sugar throughout the work week, I knew this time would come so I was prepared to stop the binge sugar eating and had a plan to get back on the wagon.

My plan is to pretty much eat a bunch of fruits and veggies as well as up my water intake.

side note: That is one of the things that I have noticed. If I don’t drink enough water, it gets harder to say no to tempting treats.

Check out my diet yesterday, getting back on the wagon!

For breakfast, I started my day with warm lemon water, coffee, and a fruit and veggie smoothie. I blended together spinach, 1/2 a banana, some frozen berries, OJ, and water to make a yummy and filling breakfast smoothie. I might add oats next time to hold me over even longer
As a midmorning snack, I had a plate of fruit with 1/2 a mango, some grapes, and a couple monster strawberries.

For lunch, I had 1/2 an avocado, a plate cucumbers, and baby tomatoes with a side of hummus for dipping. I intended to eat some rice an veggies but I was actually pretty full and saved it for tomorrow. I had another lemon water as a chaser to all my veggies.
As a midday snack, I made another smoothie. This time with kale, spinach, some strawberries, an apple, water, and OJ. I like smoothies (juices as well) as it allows me to eat handfuls of leafy greens without making a salad.
For dinner, I ate leftovers of chicken stir-fry with black bean sauce and a side of rice. I don’t often eat meat but when I do, it tends to be chicken.

And that is it folks! I already feel better after one day back to healthy eating, I hope that I can continue on this track.

What did you eat today?
Is there anything that you do to get back on the wagon after you fall off? It doesn’t have to be about food.
Let me know!

Until next time,
Ana Luiza
