Hi guys!
Here in the Northwest U.S. today is the day that parents have been waiting for but kids have been dreading. It’s back to school!
For my university, I actually start in the end of September (the latest start date in the country) but for all the rest of you who are staring the first day of school in the face, I decided to compile my list of style essentials for the upcoming school year
Starting from the bottom and working upwards, we start with shoes!
There are only a couple styles of shoes that I like to wear to school: flats when the weather is nice, riding boots when the weather is rainy, and colorful sneakers when I am lazy. Between these three categories, you can get variety, style, and color.
Rather than worry about your skirt flying up, try pants and leggings for the school year. I like regular skinny jeans as a staple basic. For variety and color, try out a pair of colored jeans or trousers with flats or patterned leggings with boots (but remember to wear a top long enough to cover your bum!)
Tops can make regular jeans seem edgy, preppy, or classic. I like to have a variety of not-so-basic t-shirts for casual days. Button ups can also change a look from Northwest grunge to New England classic depending on their style. Knit pieces cover everything up when the weather cools off as fall sets in.
You can see the exact pieces that I picked out on my Polyvore page by clicking on the images.
What are your back to school style basics?
Let me know in the comments!
I’m on ’em all!
Until next time,
