Story time y’all rather round.
Yesterday was a very stormy day here in the Northwest. However it only started raining once I was dressed, out the door, and waiting for the bus. That was the moment that Mother Nature decided to subject Seattle to lashing sideways rain. I’m talking lots of water from the sky. Between the time it started raining and I was able to get my umbrella out of my bag, I was already well on the way to being soaked and got to spend the rest of the day in varying degrees of dampness.
This unpleasant experience got me thinking about the things needed to survive a rainy day and still look semi decent. For those of you that are able to do, I salute you.
Here are my three main essentials for (super) rainy day survival.
Take a look!
1) Rain Boots
Rain boots are a must if you don’t want to have wet feet all day. The taller they are, the more protected your legs will be as well.
I have been lusting over these quilted ones by Hunter but they make rain boots in every color of the rainbow, so why not have a pink pair as well?!
2) Rain Coat
I like the idea of having a great rain coat in the Fall and Winter months that says something about your style. Think of all the people who see only your outwear rather than the outfit underneath? Use your outer rain shell to show off your style as well as protect you from the elements.
What is classier than a Burberry trench in the Fall?
3) Umbrella
Now, I’m not talking about the small personal umbrellas. I’m talkin’ a gale force wind resistant doorman umbrella. If the rain is coming straight down, your feet stay dry . If it’s raining sideways, this creates a wall between you and the rain.
This thing is no joke and I am desperate to have one.
What do you use to stay dry on a rainy day?
Have you tried any of these items out?
Let me know in the comments! I am thinking about making a few purchases and would love to hear your experiences first!
Until next time,
Ana Luiza
