What I’m Lovin’ – September Favorites (and UNfavorites)

Hi guys!

So… we are half way through October and I still haven’t done September favorites.
Does anybody still care?

No matter! Because I am going to share them with you anyways!

I have six favorites and two UNfavorites for the long ago month of September

Take a look!
e.l.f. Studio Daily Brush Cleaner
For only $3, this cannot be a better deal. I like this brush cleaner for daily spot cleaning or if I want to switch colors but continue using the same brush.
They also have a Brush Shampoo for deeper cleaning that I really want to try!

e.l.f. Contour Brush
e.l.f. “C” Brush and Contour Brush
These are two new bushes in the e.l.f. professional line. Again for $3 each, these brushes are wonderful. The contour brush was made to replicate a MAC 217 and the “C” brush is a simple flat shader brush. With these two brushes, you can do a variety of eye looks without needing expensive brushes.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Palette
I have been loving this palette since I got it! It is a great array of taupe neutrals that, I have found, work for both warm and cool toned skin. I have been using it for simple looks on the daily and in conjunction with the Naked 2 palette for a greater array of looks.

Plum Colored Nails
Essie in Recessionista and Wet ‘N Wild Megalast in Berry on Trend
All September long, I swapped over my reds, pinks, and oranges for deep plum and berry shades of polish. These two have been my favorites because they last the longest without chipping and have great color pigmentation. The Essie polish I found on sale at Marshall’s and you all know how I love Wet ‘n Wild

Olay Fresh Effects Bright on Schedule Eye Awakening Cream
I started using this eye cream in the morning to help with the crazy puffiness underneath my eyes. I don’t know how much this helped by its self (I started doing some other things as well) but it feels wonderful in the morning because of the metal roller ball style application. It’s a light feeling cream that sits well underneath makeup.

Now onto the sad UNfavorites
Remember my May Favorites? I raved on about the Aquaphor Lip Repair balm and how wonderful it was. Well…a while after using this lip balm, I started having all sorts of problems with the skin of my lips and around my mouth. Turns out, the Aquaphor was causing some sort of allergic reaction with my skin. I wasn’t certain what was causing the problem for a while as I stopped using the balm once my dermatologist gave me an alternative balm. Then a few weeks ago, I found the Aquaphor in my bag and, having nothing else on hand, started using it again. And guess what happened all over again? You guesses it!
My other UNfavorite is the Neutrogena Light Night Cream. After running out of the CeraVe PM cream, I decided to give this cream a go. I’m not a huge fan because it makes me feel greasy rather than soaking into my skin. It just seems to sit on top of the skin and needs to be washed off to get rid of that feeling. Not a fan.

What were your favorites for September?

Was this WAY too late for a What I’m Lovin’ post or only a little late?
Let me know in the comments! I love hearing from you guys!

Until next time,

Ana Luiza

Great choices for the loves. Especially love the Essie polish! It screams autumn!! Too bad for the "unfavorites"… Hah! I'm actually glad I saw this post because I'd had my sights on the Neutrogena night cream. No more!! I would hate to feel greasy. Sometimes I'm so picky about how my skin feels that I'll just go scrub my face. Haha, weird? Probably…

Thanks Stephanie! I'm glad that this was helpful for you! The night cream feels on the skin like something comparable to a cold cream. It's not I want on my face. I'm like you about that as well.
