I wanted to share a couple pictures from this past week’s vacation to California because what else would one do after a vacation right 😉
After driving down and enjoying Disneyland, we packed up our car and drove up to coast on Highway 1 and Highway 101. This included stops at various beaches along the coastline as well as interesting landmarks and sites. From Anaheim we drove to Santa Monica to catch the very beginning of Pacific Coast Highway, then made our way through Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Carmel, Monterey, Santa Cruz, and ended in San Francisco.
The California coast is something that I now believe everyone should travel. It is so vast and long that it encompasses an amazing variety of landscapes from white sand beaches in the south to rugged cliffs in the north. Some of my favorite pieces of coastline was along the drive between Santa Barbara and Monterey. The cliffs make nearly straight lines from the earth down into the surf; a sharp break that pronounces the edge of the continental United States in a dramatic manner.
Have any of you ever driven along this coastline? Share your experience with me in the comments.
Where should I go next after seeing all that was the California coastline?
Gorgeous photos! I’d love to see the west coast sometime!
My family and I just went to San Fran over spring break (which is longer ago than I’d like to believe) but we stopped by one the of the beaches (it was called like Ocean beach or something…state park) and it was gorgeous. Let’s be honest, california is gorgeous. If you haven’t already, I suggest the national parks like Yosemite and Yellowstone but if you’re not as into the hiking scene, my favorite city to visit will always be Charleston…so pretty.
Looks like you had fun!

You are so cute. That picture with you and your boyfriend is super cute.
I recognize the one beach you were on! When my family and I went to San Fran over spring break, we took a short walk on a beach (it was called Ocean Beach or something…it was a state park) just to say we had been in the pacific ocean (a big deal since we live on the east coast).
If you haven’t been, I stronly suggest Yosemite and Yellowstone national parks. If you aren’t as much into the camping/hiking scene, my favorite city has always been Charleston, South Carolina (rivaled only by Toronto and San Fran).
These pictures are totally wanderlust-inducing, by the way…the make me want to go back, like, right now!
