Who grew up wearing hand-me-downs? Well I’m still wearing them but this time they are (mostly) my mom’s old things. This shirt in particular was made for her by her mother in the 80’s and I’m still sporting it on the regular today. The print has the most random assortment of things on it that one can imagine: pineapples (how trendy), potted plants, roses, pocket watches, and bowler hats. What?
But the quirky print isn’t the reason why I love and wear this shirt so much. Partly for sentimental value but also because it has a draped tie front! I love this style of shirt and have strong impulses to snatch them up whenever I see it, which isn’t all that often. I love the elongating optical illusion that adds height to my small (ok short) frame. What are your thoughts on tie front shirts and weird prints? Is the optical illusion all in my head?
SHIRT: one of a kind 😉 (similar style here and linked below) // JEANS: American Eagle // SHOES: Frye // BAG: Coach // LIPSTICK: Revlon Balm Stain in ‘Sweetheart‘
Super cute, and you rock those skinny jeans-great legs!
Thanks Angie!
What an awesome piece to carry with you from family history! Doesn’t it make you want to start picking up interesting/unique fabrics and learn to sew your own awesome shirts? Rarely are there one-of-a-kind clothes anymore. So fun. Also, every.single.time. I see shoes that I LOVE, they are always FRYE! When I saw that, I rolled my eyes and laughed because it never fails haha! Cute outfit, dear!
Hahaha! That is funny about you and Frye shoes. It must be a sign! Thanks for reading Joy!
I love the whole look! That bag is gorgeous. I’ve had my eye on it for a while. I love the shoes you paired it with too!
Thanks Miranda!

I never thought of it that way but it totally is! Thanks for reading Johanna!
That print is so cool! I love that it’s a super fun, casual print but the tie-style of the shirt I usually think of as more dressy. It works so well together!
Thanks Mattie!
Your top is adorable! Love this fun summer look!
