In the Kitchen With Blue Apron

In the Kitchen With Blue Apron - Northwest Blonde

If you follow me on social media, you may know that Mr.A and mine’s home has been in a constant state of remodeling ever since we moved in. So far we’ve painted walls, refinished hardwood, fixed doors, and added trim. However now it’s the kitchen’s turn for a little revamping. With the house being in disarray, it has been hard to stick to a healthy homemade diet and we end up eating out more that either of us are happy about.

This past week however, we were saved by Blue Apron when they delivered three perfectly portioned ready to cook vegetarian meals to our doorstep! Blue Apron is a meal delivery service that cuts out the hassle of looking for recipes to try, finding time to go to the grocery, and dealing with leftovers. Instead you get three meals perfectly portioned for the number of people in your household. Everything comes pre packaged and portioned out but not in a 1950’s just-open-a-can kind of way. The food is fresh from the farm and seasonal, simply packaged up for convenient cooking and quick clean up. Plus all their meals are between 500-700 calories, can be whipped up in under 35 minutes. What’s not to love?!

Now I’m no Martha Stewart and am pretty lousy at meal planning, so Blue Apron was definitely a game changer. No meal planning, no grocery store run, plus every meal comes with a recipe card that gives detailed instructions with pictures, which is probably my favorite part of the entire experience. They can seriously make anyone feel like a master in the kitchen.

Even better yet, Blue Apron is giving 2 free meals to the first 30 Northwest Blonde readers who sign up to try out their meal delivery service. You can sign up for that here Try it out and thank me later 😉 You won’t regret it!

This seems like a weird thing to say about food…but everything is so CUTE! I love the individual packaging! It’s all so neat and tidy and well organized.

I have heard a little bit about Blue Apron, but haven’t tried it yet, afraid of the cost. Do you think the cost of the delivery service is equal to the amount you would be spending on food anyway?

I think that you are paying mainly for the convenience. What it costs for one box (3 meals) I would normally spend on an entire week’s worth of groceries for me and A. But as I said in the post, with the kitchen torn apart and hectic schedules, Blue Apron delivery took some of the stress off. I know another family with both parents in full time corporate jobs plus 2 kids with full schedules so they swear by Blue Apron and other grocery delivery services simply because the cost is worth it to not have to go to the grocery and meal plan. I would try out the 2 free meals just so you can see if it is worth it for your family. It’s good, fresh, healthy food and they do all the thinking and planning for you. Hope that helps and thanks for reading Brittany
