While the weather is still warm, most people seem to be dreaming of fall. Well there are simple things you can do to cut into your sweater weather cravings without spending the day in a pool or your own sweat.
First off, try embracing fall-like colors. For this casual outfit, I’ve paired this olive linen shirt, which is still breathable and comfortable for the summer months, with a leather skirt but kept the hemline shorter to beat the heat. By sticking with more Earthy tones, one gets the idea of fall without the layers that simply will not due in August.
Need more than just a color palette change? Start breaking in those new ankle booties now. Add skinny jeans and an airy flowing top to beat the heat. Need to have your scarf fit met even though it’s still August? Opt for a light weight silk or cotton scarf to get you ready for the heavy knits to come. If all else fails, go home and make yourself a pumpkin spice something 😉
What are your favorite ways to bring some fall themes into your summer look?
SHIRT: Forever 21 (real old, similar here) // SKIRT: Topshop // SHOES: KorkEase // BAG: H&M // SUNGLASSES: ZeroUV // LIPSTICK: MAC ‘In Anticipation’ // NECKLACES: Rain City Forge + Forever 21
Are you ready for fall or clinging to summer? Let me know in the comments! I love hearing from you!
I love how casually classy this outfit is! The wrap skirt with the loosely tucked in blouse is just beautiful.

I love the colors with the mix between summer and fall. But those shoes are my fave!
Thanks Allison! They are crazy comfortable too!
Great outfit. I am dreaming of fall. It’s so hot here in Washington. Too hot. I loved it at the beginning of summer. It was a nice surprise- the kids love it but now I’m just done. I’m always uncomfortable. I’m ready for warm, comfy clothes!
You and I are in opposite camps. I LOVE summer and really dread fall/winter but this year I’m trying to get into it. Thanks for reading Christina!
