While I’m all about embracing summer (we still have a few weeks left before pumpkin everything), my practical side just won’t allow me to ignore the fact that the weather is changing and Fall is coming. This puts us all in a strange inbetween place for fashion and style. Too warm to wear all the new fall pieces but not quite warm enough for full on summer style. So what to do…
I always have the same tactic in these moments. Go simple. This basic chiffon blouse will keep me cool but skinny jeans are just enough added warmth without having me sweating all over the place. Overall it’s all about balance, then you can accessorize at will. This simple work look wear can easily be dressed up or down as needed. Add a blazer or jacket and you’re business casual. Swap out the shoes for cute flats and you are ready to run some errands sans yoga pants. I love the simple palette, which then allows for countless possibilities to play with other colors, patterns, and textures.
How do you like to deal with these in between fashion moments? SHIRT: Forever 21 // JEANS: American Eagle // SHOES: Jessica Simpson // BAG: Aldo // SUNGLASSES: H&M // WATCH+BRACELET: T+J Design (similar here and here) // LIPSTICK: Nars ‘Heatwave’
Share your between season looks with me in the comments below! And don’t forget to check out this post all about finding the perfect pair of jeans on a budget.
I would have never guessed those jeans were from American Eagle, they look so much more expensive! Love that blouse too, and what a cute outfit for transitioning into fall!
Thanks Jenn! These are seriously the BEST jeans for their price point
Black pumps and a classic button-down shirt always can make simple work wear look elegant, like in your case. =))
Thanks Ada!
Love the look, especially the purse and the shoes! Those shoes are what every girl needs in their closet!
Thanks Sharon! These shoes are the best! And so easy to walk in
I am loving that Aldo bag! But living in the midwest this inbetween weather is so real, ha! I’m a fan of the light tops with dressy ankle pants for work 🙂
Thanks Caitlyn!

I really like this top and I absolutely adore the way you’ve styled it here!
Thanks Bethany!
This outfit is great! The bag is a great accessory as well.
Thanks Tara!
The closer I get to 30 and the further I get from 20 I’ve noticed that hanging out with some of my friends only happens before sundown so I’ve had to figure out how to go from work to happy hour lol
I love this post! Very stylish outfit. I’m only allowed to wear jeans on Fridays at work so my go to is dresses. I usually rock a sweater or blazer (my office is often freezing even though I’m in Texas and it’s in the hundreds lol) I also have some pretty active days so flats happen often. Lose the blazer put on a pair of wedges and I’m ready for Happy Hour!
Sounds like a great look and one that I too rock often! Thanks for reading Dia!
I love this look! It’s perfect for this transitional weather period 🙂 and we need to take outfit pictures together soon!!
Yes! we do need to get together soon before the weather changes!
Oh I love that shirt!! I hope they have it at my Forever…

They should. I think it’s pretty new. Thanks for reading Liz!
I can’t believe that top is from Forever 21! I thought it’d be from Madewell or something – it looks fabulous on you! This outfit is so chic and perfect for my business-casual, work environment. I wish we had “transition” periods in Texas, so I could provide a tip. Unfortunately, it’s just hot, hotter, and somewhat hot here!
