Day 3 of New York Fashion Week brought more and more shows. Four of the highlights of the day include: Francesca Liberatore, Mara Hoffman, Monique Lhullier, Noon by Noor, and Rebecca Minkoff. Francesca Liberatore’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection was the most interesting collection that I was able to see personally. The pieces were all a blend of feminine with bohemian but with surprisingly clean lines. The models all walked barefoot with silver paint drawn up their feet, legs, and arms. The entire collection was based upon the human heart; this detail coming through in all the embroidery and decor of the clothing. Glittering anatomically correct hearts were everywhere in the collection, some pieces more obvious than others. The ones like the black and white dress pictured above was a favorite of mine as you can’t quite tell what the pattern is without a closer look.
Mara Hoffman’s Spring/Summer collection was literal sunshine and rainbows. And birds and clouds and blue skies. Long hemlines ruled the runway at Hoffman’s show accompanied by long braids. This collection will be perfect for your beach vacation next summer with plenty of flowing billowing fabric and an enchanting feel.
Monique Lhullier was modern and feminine and full of color. Bright bold hues without barely a neutral insight, this collection played a lot with pattern in monochrome looks and complimentary colors in looks featuring all solids. With this entire collection, it is impossible to not look both beautifully glam but also minimalist. I don’t know how she did it, but she did. I would also like to say that the shoes for this collection were some of my favorites from colorful fringe flats to metallic in every shade.
Noon by Noor was presented by two cousins who have been designing together since 2008. Shift dresses and crisp lines galore, I loved that even the tomboy-ish pieces had a feminine touch to them. The collection rotated through several color spectrums, moving first from bold blue then into reds and moving into softer hues, ending with the marvelous gold pieces seen above. It should also be noted that shoe color changed along with the clothing. Hello shiny gold loafers, I’m in love. The hair for Noon by Noor was a slicked back half up man bun with crimped texture beneath.
Rebecca Minkoff was everything and more. Prior to Fashion Week, I only knew Rebecca Minkoff for her bags but now I am forever changed. First off, there was a live band playing to accompany her models down the runway. Each piece was a mix of sexy rocker chic with a bohemian 70’s twist. Every model was sporting the seasons hottest hair trend with a set of full and shaggy bangs with otherwise straight and textured hair. It was awesome!

I can’t get over how awesome those first dresses are! I love the third one–the one that’s red and lacey.
