Father’s Day is this weekend and some of you may be scrambling for a gift. I brainstormed with a friend at work today who was complaining that her father is a difficult person to gift shop for as he tends to buy everything he wants for himself. Well here are some last minute gift ideas that dad either won’t think to buy for himself or simply can’t buy but would still love to receive this Father’s Day!
Quality Time
This could take shape in many different ways depending on your time and financial restraints but quality time with you is always at the top of his list. Some of the things you could do are…
- plan a weekend camping trip
- go for a hike
- fins a day trip destination near your home
- go for a weekend roadtrip
- ahoy mate! go for a boat cruise
- visit a local car show or museum
- have a trivia night (these games are great at home with family but many restaurants have also started having trivia nights on slower night, like Sundays
Food
They say the way into a man’s heart in through his stomach. Well you’ve already have his heart so here are some ideas to take care of his stomach!
- bake a pie
- pick up bacon everything at your local high end grocery (aka Whole Foods or Met Market for my Seattlites)
- surprise him at breakfast with coffee and donuts
- take him to boozy brunch (it’s not just for moms!)
- beer tasting at a local brewery
- make his favorite dinner or lunch
Traditional Gifts
There’s something to be said for opening a box covered in wrapping paper. It’s a feeling that will never get old! Here are some more traditional gift ideas you could get for dad Saturday and have wrapped and ready on Sunday.
- new kicks (Sports Authority is closing and has some killer steals if you know your father’s shoe size)
- a new summer shirt
- gift card to his favorite store
- new jersey for his favorite team
What will you be doing for Father’s Day this year? Let me know in the comments!
