Every week Michelle and I host Start the Week Stylish linkup here and most weeks this helps me stretch my style and creativity muscles in order to come up with a themed look. Some weeks are harder than others and let me tell your that this week was tough for me.
I am a firm believer that yoga pants are for yoga class and that hoodies are generally best left to camping expeditions. So when I was researching athleisure looks, I was hard pressed to find something that I believed fit within my style. While it may look great on Kylie Jenner, there is no way I’m wearing a sports bar and no shirt in public.
While Google failed, Pinterest came to my rescue. I found countless sporty looks that even girly girls like me could love. They mostly involved wearing dressed with athletic accessories. Break it down more and you’ve got a dress with sneakers. Why hasn’t this been a thing before?! The ease of wearing a dress but the comfort of sneakers is any girl’s dream, am I right? Needless to say this was my weekend look for Saturday afternoon in the sun.
What are your thoughts on athleisure wear? Keep it coming or leave it at the gym? Let me know in the comments below!
DRESS: Goodnight Macaroon c/o // SHOES: Adidas // SUNGLASSES: old, more options here // BAG: Celine alternative (more options here) // LIPS: Charlotte Tilbury ‘Pillow Talk‘
Adding a good pair of kicks is def a great way to athleisure any outfit. I have a few pairs of Adidas that I rotate with my skirts and pants to dress down some looks. Love the way you styled your superstar with a floral dress.

I agree with you. Sweatpants and sports bras are for the gym or in my case for lounging around the house on a rainy Sunday afternoon! But I do love dresses or skirts with sneakers! It’s my favorite warm weather pairing! And you are adorable in your sneakers and dress combo, for sure!

Love your cute look! I’m a firm believer that gym clothes stay at the gym. I hate to see women who look like they haven’t worked out in years running around the grocery store in spandex.
Love these sneakers with this pretty dress! I would love this look for a relaxed weekend. 🙂

I’m with you, yoga pants are for working out, not as casual wear. Love sneakers with dresses though!
This outfit is gold!!! I love adding a pair of sneakers with an otherwise feminine outfit!

I rarely wear my workout clothes outside of the gym. I don’t even wear the same sneakers from workout and just for everyday use. Love the sneakers with this dress!
Thank you for hosting and hope you are having a fab week!

Hope to see you Thursday for TBT Fashion link up.
Sneakers look good with dresses and that is why I love it so much! Your looks good by the way.
I love that line “yoga pants are best left for yoga class, and hoodies left for camping” – so funny. I wish I could say this were true in my life. Yoga pants I never wear, but I have been seen wearing a hoodie on a cool day — guilty! I like what you have done with this look, though. Very cute 🙂
I always love the idea to wear dress with sneakers!

Last Summer and this Summer especially I cannot stop wearing dresses and skirts with sneakers especially since I have a large collection of sneakers. Your dress and bag are so chic and pretty. This look is still you Ana Luiza. You nailed athleisure too.
