I am so excited to guest post on Northwest Blonde. I love Ana’s style and always look forward to her weekly outfit posts. Thanks Ana for allowing me the opportunity to share my summer go-to look with your readers.
My favorite thing about summer is the long days. I love seeing people enjoying the warm weather, having dinner al fresco, or enjoying time with friends. There is nothing better then the smell of BBQ and the taste of fresh watermelon.
I work in an office 5 days a week so I only wear shorts when on vacation or when it’s super hot. I much more prefer to wear a dress.
My summer go-to is a lightweight flowy dress that is not constricting. This one is from Target’s Who What Wear collection. Ana turned me on to this line. I am now addicted and own several pieces that I will style this month on the blog.
This dress is so cute and reminds me of a cupcake (so many sweet ruffles). I chose to keep things soft and girly with my favorite nude sandals and chic jewelry .
To maximize your summer look follow these three tips:
- Get a great shoe that is comfortable but can be worn with a dress or pant. I own these in two colors.
- Keep your makeup light and simple. In the warm months, your makeup is going to slide off due to the heat. I am not one to go sans makeup but I am all for lightening up my routine. If you’re someone who wears eye shadow and liner, opt for just mascara. The same goes for heavy foundations; try a mineral powder. I love a bold lip, but a classic nude or shimmery gloss works too.
- Keep jewelry to a minimum. Even if I’m on a fishing trip with my family, I will still be wearing some cute studs or a simple pendant. Jewelry is my favorite thing when getting dressed.
