If you’re anything like me then you know that one of the saddest parts of fall is packing away all my summer dresses to sit until next year. Well, what if I told you there was not just one but a whole bunch of ways to keep wearing those cute summer dresses well into fall?! Well that’s what we’re going to do!
Don’t pack up those dresses just yet because you can re-style them for fall! With some easy style tricks you won’t be worried about freezing while making a style statement.
ADD LAYERS
Adding layers is the hands down easiest way to rework your summer dress to cooler weather. Plus there are just so many different ways to do it. Throw a sweater over your dress and wear it like a skirt. Add a jacket or blazer on top. You can even wear a button up underneath a sleeveless dress and get a whole new look. This last one’s a work wear win!
INVEST IN TIGHTS
Seems like a no brainer but invest in a couple pairs of heavy duty lined tights to wear under your favorite frocks. As someone who wore a uniform skirt all through high school, I know the warmth a pair of quality tights can add to a fall (and winter) look. If you aren’t one for wearing plain ol’ black, look for a great pattern or color that you love.
SWAP SANDALS FOR BOOTS
Another super easy way to give your favorite summer dress a fall feel is to swap out your sandals for boots. In pre-fall you can easily wear a dress with ankle boots for a light fall feel then transition into wearing taller boots as the weather continues to cool. Who else is ready to take their OTK boots back out for a spin?!
ACCESSORIZE
As the weather cools, start adding different accessories to your look. This is the best time to start breaking out those lighter scarves, then as we move further into fall swap those out for the blanket scarves.
The same goes for vests! Pre-fall is a great time to add the lighter or duster cardigans to your regular routine but as we get further into the fall, add your faux furs over your summer dress to give it a whole new look!
