The word ‘simple’ sometimes seems to have a bad rap in the world of style. It gets lumped in with basic, plain, and boring. Well I’m here to say that simple style isn’t a bad thing! Sometimes it’s easy to get wrapped up in the ever changing trends, looking for the latest and greatest color or accessory to perfectly compliment your look. It’s good to remember that we can still have simple style and look extremely sophisticated and stylish.
Here are three reasons why simple style isn’t a bad thing!
Simple Style isn’t Boring
Simplicity can mean minimalist, chic, and sophisticated. Think about a pair of nude pumps. Nude Louboutins are simple in appearance but also considered chic, sophisticated, and luxurious. Now what is boring about a woman rocking a pair of pumps with confidence and a little strut in her step? Nothing! There are so many ways to style a simple and elegant wardrobe that you would never get bored with just a little imagination.
Simple Style is Chic
Remember this reminder by Coco Chanel? Every morning before you head out the door, take off one item. I think it’s safe to say that we all consider Coco Chanel one of the most stylish and chic women in history. She was known for wearing ‘simple’ colors like black, white, and nude and rarely venturing away from her chosen colors. A little black dress and pearls will always be stunning and stylish thanks to Madame Chanel.
Simple Style is Effortless
Let’s face it. Between work, family, friends, (and Instagram) we all have a full load on our plates daily. Why not make getting dressed a little easier on those hectic days by pairing down our wardrobe to more simple looks. A neutral palette is always chic and makes mixing and matching a breeze on rushed mornings.
Let me know how you are going to make simple chic again! (see what I did there 😉 ) Share with me in the comments below what your favorite simple and chic look is! I love hearing from you babes!
