Happy August loves! Today I get to talk to you guys about one of my favorite styles to wear, the midi skirt. If you’ve been following here or on Instagram for a while you know that I wear one of these almost once a week.
A midi style is a skirt or dress with a hem that hits between your knees and your shin. They are perfect for everything from church to the office. Why’s that? Because the slightly longer hem and less skin leads to a more feminine and ladylike appearance. Now why do you need one? Oh let me tell you all the reasons!
You’ve never twirled like this before. Trust me when I say midi style dresses and skirts are the best for when you need a good twirl. I love this one in particular. The looser and lighter material adds a magical touch when the breeze hits you just right.
Say hello to an instant hourglass figure. Because these styles have full skirts, they tend to define your waist line. As someone with a pear shaped figure, I love the fact that I can both hide my imperfections while at the same time define my waist for an illusion of that hourglass shape.
They dress up and down with ease. Midi skirts are the best for this as you can easily swap out your top for a different look. With a blouse and heels you have a more dressed up look while with a tee and flats you’ve got a whole other look out of the same skirt.
Street style is easy in a midi skirt as well. Perhaps you aren’t super feminine or want a little bit of an edgier look. Well that is easy in a midi style. Throw on your favorite pair of sneakers and leather jacket for instant street style that can be seen on the streets of New York.
Are you a midi skirt lover? Let me know if you share my obsession in the comments!

I love midi skirts, they are the perfect length to be lady like and also show a little leg. Love the BR kitten heels!

Midi skirts are fantastic! I prefer the Midi length to knee length because I think it makes me look a bit taller. I love your floral midi and your tips!
