Why You Need to be Wearing Olive Green This Fall

So I don’t know if you have noticed but there is a new color in town for fall. Ever since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, green has been sneaking not just onto my Insta feed but covers of magazines and the ads within. And not just any shade of green. Specifically, olive green just seems to be everywhere!

And for good reason too! This stunning new shade is trending for fall and you need to get some into your wardrobe. Here’s just a few reasons why!

IT LOOKS GOOD ON ALL SKIN TONES

From fair to medium to dark, olive green looks amazing on all skin tones. Normally a seasonal or trending color generally isn’t suited for everyone. Warm tones like reds and yellows tend to suit people with warm undertones while cooler colors like blues and purples suit those with cool undertones to their skin. However since green is on the boarder between warm and cool colors, it functions a little differently. Colors that flatter us all tend to be neutrals so it’s special that olive green can be considered among the mix. It also makes it the perfect color to wear because it can act like a neutral but I’ll get to that in a second…

IT’S THE PERFECT FALL-WINTER TRANSITION COLOR

Olive green is the perfect color to wear in transitional seasons because it pairs well with so many different colors. While the weather is warmer, pair this green with lighter colors like beige and other pastel shades. Once it’s on the winter side of fall, start mixing in darker shades like black, grey, and cognac for an earthier look.

YOU CAN FIND IT EVERYWHERE

What’s not to love about a color you can find just about everywhere and at every price point?! If you are loving olive green you can go all in and find dresses, shoes, tops, pants, and accessories in this color (I’m not the only one right?) or you can just test out this trending color with a single top or dress without blowing your budget on a new trend that may leave you on the fence.
