Hello ladies. Well as we get farther into November, we all start breaking out those cozy knits. Since a girl’s got to stay warm some how, it’s up to us to find ways to wear our knits with style. Now I’m sure we all own some version of a cozy chunky knit sweater we love but does it make you feel like the abominable snowman? Well there are 5 cozy knits we should all have in our wardrobe (some chunkier than others) that will have you looking stylish (and feeling toasty warm) all winter long!
Just keep reading for the 5 stylish picks!
1) Turtleneck
A chunky knit turtleneck is a must for any winter wardrobe! While some may feel the oversized knit makes them look bulky, I say balance the look with a slim fitting bottom like skinny jeans. And don’t feel like all turtlenecks are oversized and chunky. You can find slim fittings ones too but beware the Steve Jobs look of turtleneck and blue jeans 😉
While I love a knit turtleneck for its cozy warmth, regular tissue turtlenecks are great for laying all winter long. You can stock up now before the real cold sets in since these ones are on sale!
2) Beanie
It’s winter so we all need hats and gloves to stay warm. There are super cute options to staying warm and that’s a beanie! These hats became super popular last year and will be again this winter. They make for super cute accessories, plus you’ll be visible in a crowd.
Chunky knit mittens are also a cute accessory that will keep you warm this winter. While gloves are getting more and more high tech these days (no need to take you gloves off to use your phone), I feel like mittens are still available in every knit color and pattern. Just make sure to look for fabric like alpaca for extra warmth!
3) Sweater Dress
For all you working girls (like your’s truly), a sweater dress is a must for the winter months. A cozy but still chic sweater dress is like getting to wear a blanket all day long in the winter. With ankle boots and warm tights, you can get away with wearing sweater dresses all winter long. Plus there are so many stylish options around this season. Here are some of my top picks!
4) Cashmere Sweater
While a cashmere sweater is another must for the working #girlboss, it’s also a great piece for anyone who wants some serious warmth without the bulk this winter. You can wear a simple cashmere crewneck sweater with anything from jeans to a pencil skirt and the end result is always luxurious, both feeling and looking.
Now don’t feel like you have to break the bank for this luxe fabric! I get all my cashmere pieces from here, where they have deals for sweaters as low as $50 (I’ve even found lower prices during sales!)
5) Cable Knit Anything
This is a winter classic we should all own. As a #ClassicStyleGirl a cable knit, especially in any neutral color, is a must in your wardrobe. The good news is you can find them just about anywhere at any price. Cable knit sweaters, cardigans, hats, mittens, socks just to name a few (things I actually own…) are all items that can carry this winter classic knit pattern.
Why cable knits? For one, they add visual interest to any knit piece, which can sometimes be difficult to find in winter clothes. Another reason to reach for a cable knit over any other is that it’s a classic pattern which will never go out of style.
What are your favorite knit pieces for winter? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time,
