Today babes we are tackling another Designer Alternative, the Chanel Cap Toe Slingback! (see all my Designer Alternative series here)
This is the chicest shoe I’ve seen in a while and everyone, I mean everyone, is wearing them. Bloggers, fashion editors, celebrities, you name it, she’s wearing this updated Chanel classic. The problem is that, of course, Chanel shoes come with a Chanel price tag. And you can’t just buy these shoes anywhere. You have to live in an area with a Chanel boutique. I live in Seattle and we have less than a handful of retailers that (are allowed to) carry Chanel products at all.
So what to do? Why find a designer alternative of course! While this classic Chanel shoe can set you back upwards of $900 at your local Saks/Nordstrom/Bergdorf’s and just as much secondhand (if you can even find any in your size), there are several excellent designer alternatives that will give you the Chanel look for less.
Ivanka Trump Liah
This is by far the closest alternative to the Chanel original. This Ivanka style comes in a variety of oh so classy colors from nude to black to navy. I just got my hands on a pair (they’ve been selling and restocking like hotcakes) and have to say they are everything amazing and more! Perfect for the Chanel look without the Chanel price. Seriously though, these will have you looking for the double C just to check!
VANELi ‘Ali’ Sling Back
This is the designer alternative shoe for anyone who is interested in the Chanel sling back but the shorter heeled version. It is also very similar to the original Chanel (expect in it’s price tag) right down to the inward curve of the heel. This is another excellent option if you’re looking for the steal version of a Chanel classic.
Tahari Express Sling Back
If you want the Chanel look but with a bit more spice, this Tahari sling back might be the option for you. It’s not the closest match up to the original Chanel slingback with a more rounded toe and all black heel but it comes in red so… This style is also currently on super sale (under $50) here and here!
Ivanka Trump Lindi
Similar in the cap toe style and color, this pump is a great alternative for someone who isn’t interested in the sling back style but wants a fully enclosed shoe. It is nearly exactly the same as the Ivanka Trump Liah (sling back style) but in suede rather than leather. While I love the look of this shoe, it can be pretty hard to find online as it was from 2+ seasons ago.
Zara Cap Toe Pumps
Very similar to Ivanka Trump’s Lindi style but with a slightly shorter heel, this Zara shoe is an enclosed cap toe pump that has some serious style! It has a more pointed toe than the original Chanel’s classic almond shape but is still an amazing find. Everyone was running out to snag these when they first launched because for $40 why would you not? And good news! They have since restocked and are available online again!
