4 Ways to Dress For Spring When It’s Still Cold Outside

1) Change Your Color Palette

Spring is always a great time to bust out the bright colors and feminine pastels that have been hiding for the past four months (or more). While the weather may not cooperate, your outfit can start to reflect the change of the seasons by leaving those dark winter hues behind

2) Add One Spring Item

I’ve started adding a single “Spring style” item to each of my outfits. As winter has been dragging, this is another great way to start incorporating those spring time pieces into your daily style. This can be anything from an eyelet skirt to open toe booties to short sleeves!

3) Play With Pattern

Start playing with your favorite spring and summer prints again! If you love wearing eyelet in the spring and summer, don’t let a lingering winter cramp your style. The same goes for bright floral prints and patterns.

4) Pastel Knits

When all else fails, invest in some brightly colored or pastel knits. Yes, you’re still wearing a sweater (make that a win for winter) but at least it’s a color that makes you think of blooming flowers and warm sunshine!

This last #styletip has been my go-to lately/sadly. While this long drawn out winter has been the biggest drag at least I get to pick out the clothes that make me happy, which is what getting dressed is all about after all!

What are your favorite ways of dressing for spring while it’s still cold outside? Let me know in the comments!

  2. I love this outfit for transitioning to Spring! However, where I live it is even too cold for this. We are still experiencing single digit temperatures. So the way I add some Spring to my outfits is with Spring colors and prints, but I need to keep on with layers and warm fabrics!

So agree on your I tips. Living in the PNW buying little cute short sleeve or even sleeveless tops are just not practical. I’ve been buying pretty light long sleeve sweater to welcome Spring!
