5 Gingham Pieces to Have for Spring

Spring is finally here and with it comes a whole wardrobe overhaul. Gone are the sweaters and boots of the winter and in are the pastels of spring! With that comes one of my favorite prints: gingham. This is one of my most worn prints of the summer months because it’s so feminine and easy to style. For fantastic spring (and summer) style, make sure you have at least one gingham piece in your style arsenal but trust me, gingham lovers will want all five!

1) DRESS

The number one must have in your spring and summer gingham stash is a gingham dress! It’s perfect for the weekend with a light jacket or cardigan now in the spring and is ideal for all those summer BBQs that will be coming in the next few months.

2) JACKET

It seems like the newest way to wear gingham is in jacket form. I’m totally down with this new development and actually snagged my gingham jacket last year. However even more retailers have jumped on board with gingham moto jackets, blazers, and outerwear like these amazing (and surprisingly affordable options here, here, and here!

3) BUTTON UP

A gingham button up is a no-brainer for the warmer months. I’m guessing most of you already have one in your wardrobe because it’s such an easy and effortless piece to style. Wear it layered with a solid colored sweater for cooler days or tucked into a skirt for a perfectly preppy look in the summer. 4) SHOES

Gingham shoes are my latest love, specifically flats! They are so sweet and feminine and make me think of the Wizard of Oz (one of my favorite childhood movies) every time I see them. They are also surprisingly versatile as you can dress them down with jeans and a tee for a little feminine touch but you can also make them summer fete ready with a simple sheath or shirtdress.

5) SWIM WEAR

The retro look of gingham swimsuits is back but with modern cuts and styles! So basically the perfect blend of both worlds. From simple and classic one pieces to cute bikinis, there is something for everyone to wear to the beach/pool in a gingham print. I, for one, am leaning towards this off the shoulder one piece and this pastel pink one piece!
