Hey there babes! I first wanted to start with a big thank you! I received a TON of positive feedback from you regarding my post on Friday. I’m really happy that it resonated with you and that I heard back from so many of you across the comments here and on my various social feeds. If you haven’t read it yet, I basically ramble about some things that have been on my mind lately regarding the world of blogging and being a fashionista on a budget and what happens when those two things collide. You can check it out here, if you’re interested.
But moving on to the topic at hand!
I love gingham. It’s a print that I’m determined to wear as often as I can. Gingham is practically what you see when you look up “classic style” in your fashion dictionary. The only small problem is that gingham is normally considered a summer time only print.
While gingham dresses are great for the warmer months, what’s a girl to do when she wants to wear gingham all the way through fall, winter, and back into spring?
Enter the gingham jacket
I know we all probably own a gingham button up, but what about a gingham jacket?! This blue and white little love has had me all in a tizzy since J.Crew launched it last year. However they have become a regular on the market which is excellent news to us gingham lovers!
Why wear a gingham jacket?
Because it’s the easiest way to wear gingham all year round without sacrificing too much body heat/melting. Those dresses serve us all well in the spring and summer months but a printed jacket may be a little more appropriate when the temperatures start to cool.
But don’t think you can’t wear a light jacket in the summer months either! I loved pairing this jacket with shorts and a simple white tee for a casual look that was still dressed up enough for dinner on a balmy summer night. You could also easily wear your gingham jacket in the place of a denim jacket to add a little more visual interest to an outfit. Next time you see me, I may just be wearing this jacket again but over my favorite LWD (little white dress) or chambray dress 😉
See two other ways I’ve styled this jacket here and here!
What are your favorite ways to wear gingham? Do you pull it into the cooler months or just stick to summer? Let me know!
Until next time,
Ana Luiza
