Husband Picks My Outfit | Casual Date Night

Last weekend, Andrew and I decided to check out a new restaurant that has been said to have really good veggie burgers (side note: as vegetarians, it’s our goal to always search for the best veggie burgers out there. Most of them are sh*t. But occasionally we find some really good ones but back to my story…). I was still in my gym clothes and was going to get dressed after a quick shower. Andrew said “Don’t worry. I’ll pick out your outfit!”

I instantly began to worry.

However, to my surprise, he rummaged through my closet and decided on this combination. It’s an outfit we both love but for different reasons. Today, I thought we’d each break it down!

His take: Hi, Andrew here. I wanted you to wear jeans because I don’t really know what other type of bottoms there are (hint: staple of my wardrobe). I thought you looked sexy standing there in a black bra and jeans. Then I told you to put a white tee shirt on (also a staple). I picked the white tee shirt because I thought it would be just sheer enough to maybe give a glimpse of the black bra every now and then. So then we’d have guys thinking oh – what a cute girl – oh wait, is that a black bra? Maybe she’s looking for trouble? Or maybe not? Maybe it was an accident. Oh, she’s married anyway. Rats! What a lucky guy.

Then it came to choosing the shoes. You’d helped me decide on one out of two pairs so I thought it would be fun to show you how simple it is to pick shoes. However, I realized the problem with your (yet to be properly inventoried) shoe collection is that there are far too many options. So I thought a little splash of color might unbalance the bad girl look I was going for and that thought led me to girly pink. Whodathunk you have multiple pairs of pink shoes? SO we had the conversation about why these shoes aren’t all the same and I again went for the sexy option with the tall heels. Then choosing a jacket from your options was easy as we already had color so I didn’t want to add anymore, and I think the black jacket really just completed the look. I think the bag went along as well because your wallet was already in it.

My take: I love that it’s a simple jeans and a tee combo but the addition of the moto jacket and pink kitten heels add both feminine and edgy side to the look. Pink shoes are always right down my alley and the moto jacket was the perfect amount of warmth to make this a simple but stylish transitional look!

Also I think we can all agree that these aren’t exactly “tall heels” but how much can we expect a guy who wears mostly jeans and white tee shirts to know? Hope you enjoyed hearing from a man’s take on women’s fashion. I always get a kick out of his descriptions of my clothes.
