I, like I’m guessing all of you, am a busy woman. I work full time, run this lovely blog and all its corresponding social media, plus I have a husband, family, friends, workout daily, and sometimes like to get some sleep. I’m pretty sure your lives look a lot like mine in that way. What I’m trying to say is, we’re all busy. Because of this, I’m always looking for ways to cut down the time it takes me to get ready in the morning (note that sleep part above).
Just like how you can meal prep to cut down cooking times during the week (I’m obsessed with the Mealime app for meal planning. Read more about that here), you can prep to cut back your morning rush without sacrificing style!
Here are four ways to prep for a stylish week!
1) outfit planning
we all know about outfit planning at this point. It’s the best way to not have to think first thing in the morning while struggling with the eternal fashionista question of what to wear. Make sure to prep your entire outfit head to toe (including all your jewelry and accessories) so all you have to do is get dressed and go in the morning.
2) check the weather
if you’re a commuter like me, make sure to check the weather and plan ahead accordingly. In Seattle, we get plenty of rain so that means changing out footwear, adding my trench and an umbrella into the mix. But if this is all done ahead of time, you don’t have to scramble in the morning trying to find all the different components you need.
3) look at your calendar
knowing what’s coming in the week ahead not only helps you mentally map out your week (school pickups, a big presentation, happy hour plans, etc), it can also help you map out your week in style. You can outfit plan accordingly or at least know when you need to bring a spare pair of heels in your bag.
4) have a hair plan
Lots of us ladies have now jumped on the dry shampoo bandwagon (if you haven’t, join us! It’s amazing!) and aren’t washing our hair on the daily anymore. However, this means that you need to have a plan. Meaning, on days when you have a date/presentation/event planned, you have freshly washed hair then dry shampoo that ‘ish until the next event/as long as you can. I was my hair Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and it generally works out really well with my social commitments and workout plan. The other days of the week, I wear braids or top knots to get me by.
I hope this helps you be your most stylish self without the stress or rush. I know I’m generally a happier person when I have my life planned out a little bit, even if that just means I know what I’m going to wear.
Until next time,

That is such a gorgeous coat! Not a week goes by that I’m not bustin’ out the dry shampoo at some point… 🙂

And by “plain” I obviously meant “plan”! haha!
Hah the hair plan is so true. If I don’t have dry shampoo then my morning routine would take forever. Love that red coat!
