Temperatures are dropping so I’ve been thinking of one thing: how to stay warm while looking cute at the same time. It can be shockingly hard to accomplish sometimes. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we’ve got rain (and plenty) of it but lots of you have to deal with snow as well. Nothing can put a chink in my stylish plans like the weather.
But I’ve vowed that this winter will be different! I’ve done my research and gathered my supplies so I’ll be both stylish and warm all winter long. If you also want to join me in staying stylish all winter long, Here are some ways to dress both cozy and cute this winter!
ADD LAYERS
Just because it’s cold outside, doesn’t mean that you have to pack your skirts and dresses away for the next several months. Just make sure to add a warm pair of tights or, my favorite in the winter, fleece lined leggings for added warmth. This really helps expand your wardrobe from just pants and lets you express your more feminine side without feeling like a complete popsicle. Plus more layers = prepster vibes anyone?
ADD SOME COLOR
Winter can be tough on everyone’s mood and sometimes wearing all black just doesn’t help either. I almost can’t help but add a pop of color in my lipstick, handbag, or accessories when my outfit is devoid of color. Whether it’s your overall outfit or just in your socks, don’t forget to add a little color.
WEAR THE RIGHT SOCKS
Now, what was I saying about socks? Right! Nothing puts me in a bad mood like cold toes. Having the right socks can make or break me in the winter months and I’m betting some of you are the same. Having the right socks is key, which is where Solmate Socks enters the picture.

Boots, tall and short, are getting chicer by the year and there are companies now that specialize in weatherproof fashionable shoes. Plus winter boots don’t have to be boring. My rain boots are bright orange (see them here) because Seattle’s grey winter needs some added color (do I sound like a broken record yet?)
I like to use these socks when I’m wearing tall rain boots or over the knee boots and these ones with my shorter snow boots, like today, or ankle boots.
