It’s crunch time with Hanukkah wrapping up, plus Christmas and New Years right around the corner. I don’t know about you but there have been several last minute party invites which leaves me in a pinch for what to wear (here’s to not repeating party outfits)
Since I refuse to shop in store until 2018, I’m left looking/shopping my own closet for last minute holiday party outfits.
Here are three quick and easy outfits you can recreate in a flash with things that are (probably) already hanging in your closet
FLANNEL + SWEATER + JEANS + HEELS
Why I love it and you will too:
One thing that tends to be missing from most suggested holiday outfits is any aspect of warmth. It’s December. It’s cold for many of us. Layering a checked flannel with a sweater (red and green, optional) will keep you warm throughout the day. I love adding a red shoe, nails, and lips for that pop of holiday flair.
When to wear this outfit:
This is a nice casual outfit for a holiday brunch with your friends, running errands, or even casual Friday at work. Basically, if you want to be festive without being overdressed.
Sequin skirt + sweater + tights + heels
Why I love it and you will too:
There are so rarely times that we can get away with wearing sequins but this is one of them! Pair your favorite sequined piece (this is actually a dress worn as a skirt) and top it with a festive red sweater, plus a pair of tights and your favorite black heels. You still get all the fun of wearing sequins without feeling like you should really be out clubbing.
When to wear this outfit:
Wear this to any evening or more dressy holiday party. It would also be a great way to get your sparkle on for NYE.
LBD + red heels + statement necklace
Why I love it and you will too:
It’s chic, classic, and timeless. Plus it is the easiest and fastest way to get dressed and go. We all own at least one black dress. Simply dress that go-to staple up with a festive color and a little bit of bling.
When to wear this outfit:
You can wear this outfit to any holiday party. I’d wear an LBD for any work-related events, church services, or anything last minute. The LBD really is my saving grace for any I-don’t-know-what-to-wear dilemmas.
I hope you had a great weekend and are getting pumped up for Christmas next week!
Don’t forget that Tuesday (Dec 19) is the final day for most retailers to guarantee delivery by Christmas!
And one final thing! The linkup below will be the final Start the Week Stylish linkup of 2017! Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the linkups every week. Michelle, Adriele, and I all love to go through your posts and get inspired by all you stylish ladies!
Until next time,
Ana Luiza
Two of our favorite metallic looks from last week are Alison from Carefree and Coffee and Em from The Em Alexander. Make sure to stop by and say hello!
