Last week, I polled you guys who follow on my Instagram and you said you wanted to see a NWBlonde gift guide to help with your holiday shopping.
I’m personally in the gift-guides-are-overdone camp but I understand that you may want some inspiration or ideas for what to get the loved ones on your list.
Personally, I like to track gift ideas all year round. I keep a spreadsheet with several tabs: my wish list, gifts for my husband, gifts for family members, and gifts for friends. Throughout the year (whenever I get a stroke of brilliance), I add the gift idea and a link to the spreadsheet. This way whenever Christmas or birthdays come around, gifting is a breeze.
AFFORDABILITY AND AVAILABILITY
For this gift guide, I tried to keep everything under $100 although there are a couple exceptions. I tend to spend between $25-$50 for most people on my list, then splurge a little on the people closest to me (ie: my husband and our immediate family).
And finally, before we get to the gift guide, don’t forget that the cut off date for most major retailers is December 19th (Tuesday!) to have orders arrive in time for Christmas. I’ve only picked items that, at the moment I’m writing this, are available to ship immediately. Nothing worse than clicking on a link and the item is sold out 🙁
GIFTS FOR HIM
My husband, Andrew is a person who is very easy to shop for because he doesn’t generally buy things for himself and if there is something he wants, he’ll let me know (or he’ll just add it to the spreadsheet). Gifts for him tend to include clothing that needs replacing (ladies use this time to refresh your man’s wardrobe), maybe some fun snacks as a stocking stuffer, and then one thing off his wishlist.
I also love to give experiences like a lesson for something (I always check Groupon for these) or a subscription that will continue for a year. In the past, I’ve gifted my dad a subscription to the NYTimes and the Economist but something like the Texture App may be a good option as well
GIFTS FOR HER
While finding gifts for my girlfriends is easy peasy, finding the perfect gift for my mother-in-law or other people I don’t know as well is a bit harder. This is another place where the gifting spreadsheet really comes in handy to track people’s preferences.
GET STOCKING STUFFERS UNDER $20 HERE
If you’re interested in any of the gift guides I’ve done in the last they are all linked below, above, and in the ‘Holiday’ tab on the header bar. There you’ll find stocking stuffer ideas for under $20 plus more gift ideas for all the people in your life.
I hope this helps you with your gifting this season! Let me know if you have any great gifts lined up for the loved ones on your list!
Until next time,
Ana Luiza
