When Pantone announced their annual Color of the Year for 2018, I was pretty excited about it. Ultra Violet was a much more fashion friendly color than 2017’s pick, Greenery. That was until I started looking in my closet for what ultraviolet (ie purple) things I own. You’re currently looking at all my options.
For whatever reason, I don’t own and therefore wear a lot of purple clothing. I couldn’t tell you why. It’s an easy color to wear since it’s a cool tone that plays nicely with neutrals and is perfect when paired with a complementary color, like green, like in this outfit here. But thinking back, anytime I’d have the option to go for violet shades, I’d opt for blues instead.
It also turns out that I’m not alone in the lack of purple in my wardrobe. When Michelle, Adriele, and I were prepping for this week’s linkup theme (keep scrolling down if you aren’t already familiar with Start the Week Stylish), we all realized that purple, or Ultra Violet if you will, was lacking in all our wardrobes.
Are you a fan of the Pantone pick for 2018? Do you wear a lot of purples or are you, like us, just realizing that you don’t actually own many Ultra Violet pieces? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time,
Ana Luiza

Super cute styling! I love this dress and your boots. And the jacket is the perfect topper. I don’t have much purple either…and it seems this is common out in blogland!
