Dreaming of Spring But Dressing For Winter 2018

Every year I’ve been blogging I’ve had a post with this exact title. Basically, once the fun of the holidays is over then I’m 100% ready for spring and all that comes with it. Sadly, here in Seattle at least, we are headed into March with a forecast of below freezing temperatures and snow. Regardless of what the weather is doing in your neck of the woods, here are some things to help me at least feel like spring has sprung.

1.EMBRACE COLOR

Add some color back into your wardrobe with (slightly) lighter outerwear like this coat that packs a punch. Since most of us tend to wear neutrals and dark colors all winter long, adding some bold hues might just help get you out of the winter blues. (unless you love the color blue. You do you 😉 )

2.SNAG A NEW SWEATER

So being 100% honest, if you live further north like I do, we’re likely to be wearing sweaters until close mid-April so why not take advantage of winter sales and snag a couple new ones now. You’ll still have time to wear them before the weather warms up but you won’t be sick of them when next winter rolls around.

3.DON’T FORGET BOOTS TOO

And honestly, who isn’t ready to fling their winter boots into the next county? Again, get in on some of those winter sales and get yourself a new pair of winter boots on sale. While it’s super tempting to start stocking your spring wardrobe, you’ve still got time before you really need those clothes. Strike while the sale iron is hot!

4.EXPERIMENT WITH CHILLY ANKLES

So I find that by March, suddenly 45 degrees doesn’t seem as cold as it did back in October. On these days, I like to experiment with wearing different non-winter shoes like flats or slingbacks. Basically, I want to get some of my spring shoes out of the closet because I’m sick of any and all things winter related. Like in this outfit, bare ankles might be a little chilly but won’t give me frostbite and I can live with that.

It can be so tough this time of year because I’m BEYOND ready for all the spring things, but the weather just won’t quite cooperate, haha. We’re in the 60’s though this week in KC- so I think we might have just turned the corner!

Thank you for the feature, sista!
