Since I started this blog (5 years ago!), dressed up denim has always been a go-to of mine. I live in a very laid back city where jeans are the norm in everyone’s day-to-day so, unless your downtown during working hours, any other kind of pants tends to stick out like a sore thumb.
But being me, leaving jeans with a plain tee and flats just doesn’t cut it. While it is a great base, adding a little something extra turns your jeans-and-a-tee from just clothes into an outfit. Sure some may say it’s being extra (my 18-year-old sis-in-law recently taught me the phrase “being extra.” I’m so hip with the kids yo!) but it’s an easy way to have an elevated outfit when you’re really just wearing jeans and a top.
I just add a third piece, which is a styling hack I’ve gone on about at length (here for you newbies or if you need a refresher course). Slip on an extra layer to that jean-and-a-tee and out instantly have a more elevated look.
Want to go all the way and make your jeans more office-friendly? Slip on a pair of heels (this is dressed up denim) and a statement necklace. Finally, skip the rips or distressing on any denim. And just like that, you’ve got yourself a dressed up look all while wearing your favorite blue (or grey/black/pastel) jeans!
Until next time,
Ana Luiza
