Let’s all address the elephant in the room, these jeans that I can’t stop (and won’t stop) wearing. I’m wearing them right now as I type. I got them off a friend who also owns the same pair and they were a delightful surprise. I absolutely love them! Who would have guessed?!
If you’ve been a reader for a while, you know that I occasionally wear distressed jeans but they aren’t a staple in my normal style diet. Which is part of the reason why I was uncertain about this pair with its distressed hem. Overall however it’s the cut of these jeans that I’m completely in love with. Cropped flare jeans and cropped wide leg pants have been cropping up (sorry I couldn’t help it) as the latest new trend in denim. While I’m not normally one to hop onto a seasonal trend, this one I will gladly jump rope over.
Can we all agree that while skinny jeans might be stylish and are now considered the standard, they aren’t particularly comfortable. A flare or wide leg cut allows for much more comfort and range of movement. Anything that successfully combines style and comfort is a winner in my book.
Another reason to love a flare or wide leg cut over skinnies is that they flatter every shape. While skinny jeans can be unforgiving some days, flare jeans are always complementary. Add a high waist and you’ve got yourself the perfect pair of pants.
Have you tried cropped flare jeans yet? If you haven’t, would you be interested in seeing a style guide to get some ideas of how to wear them? Just let me know in the comments!
Until next time,
Ana Luiza

LOVE your jeans. Gap is so fab for basics, their shapes can be so good! x
Thanks, Maria! These are second hand from American Eagle but the Gap pair is also VERY similar. They really do have a bunch of great basics.

It took me a bit to figure out the cropped jeans going on because I’m so short it made me feel even shorter. I love these flares on you and the cropped totally works!
