Happy Monday all! Here in the US of A, it’s Memorial Day meaning three days weekend (the best kind of weekend). Most people take this long weekend and make it the first weekend getaway of the summer with camping, family road trips, or just domestic jet-setting. Andrew and I have done that in the past but this year we stuck around Seattle and had a relaxing little staycation at home. Honestly, it was a great weekend without the pressure and stress of travel.
A little taste of our weekend:
- I had some of my girlfriends over for brunch on Saturday
- Andrew and I attended a Seattle Sounders game (they lost to Real Salt Lake)
- I went on a 10-mile run
- We had dinner at the beach and made bonfires in our fire pit
- Finally, we did some plant shopping (and planting) on the Home Depot Memorial Day sale.
A little note about the other Memorial Day sales going on right today, I pre-gamed my shopping cart as usual so all I have to do is hit “Checkout” when the discount codes are activated. Sadly when Saturday rolled around, I discovered that my prepped shopping cart was already sold out in my size. I guess I’ll just keep saving my pennies until J.Crew Factory has another 50% off discount code.
I was planning on getting this dress that would be ideal for work in the summer, these pants for work and travel (they don’t wrinkle easily and are mad comfortable), and these cute high waist flare pants. (my friend has these and they are super cute. For a more casual office, they would be nice for work too.)

Honestly that sounds like the perfect weekend to me! It’s nice getting away but sometimes it feels so good to get stuff done around home and have a relaxing weekend. You look beautiful and fully relaxed in these photos.
