The past few weeks here in Seattle have been much warmer than normal. Like I said in Monday’s post, high of 75 and sunny is what’s normal for here. Well, we’ve had more days in the 80s and 90s this month than ever. And you could say that people aren’t taking it well…
For me, the added heat means getting to stretch my style muscles (yes, I think of it as a muscle) and wear some true summer styles.
For those of you who don’t know, I used to live in New York and visit Houston every summer to see my family. I know a little more about dressing for summer heat than the average Seattlite but you reading this in Tuscon or Tampa may still chuckle a bit at this.
But back to the clothes. I find that dresses are just the easiest route for me in the summer months. I can feel chic and ladylike with minimal effort and maximum breeze if you catch my drift. A trench dress like the one here today is a great option. The fabric is breathable but doesn’t cling to the skin. No sleeves help keep cool but you can easily add a cardigan, like here, for the office or anywhere that really cranks up the AC.
What are your go-to’s for hot summer days when you still need to look polished enough for the office? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time,
