Saying Goodbye to Summer

Happy Labor Day all! I hope you’re enjoying a well earned Monday off (or Sunday 2.0 as I like to call it). Labor Day generally means that we are wrapping up summer and turned our attention towards fall. It’s officially September, kids are back in school, pumpkin spice everything has hit the shelves.

I generally get pretty sad to see summer go. I’ve said it here before that I’m a warm weather gal who loves the sunshine and blue skies but fall and winter in Seattle bring quite a bit of grey and rain. Also working in an office 9-5 also makes me feel like I’m somehow missing out on my summer or not getting to enjoy it to the fullest. Whenever I start to go down this path, I need to give myself a little shake and a reminder of all the amazing things I packed into a short three-month time span.

Today I thought to go on a little jaunt down memory lane of all the things that happened this summer. Some you might have seen here on the blog or over on Instagram (@aluiza__) but also some other things are a little less photogenic. Here’s a little recap of what happened this summer:

•  ran a half marathon
• went to Palm Springs for the first time
• saw Maroon 5 in concert
• visited my husband’s family in Montana
• attended good friends’ wedding
• 4th of July BBQ
• my husband turned 30
• my husband had surgery
• visited the Lavender Festival
• visited my family in New York
• went camping with friends
• got to partner with one of my favorite brands

So overall, I don’t have much to complain about since the past three months were filled to the brim with activities. What was your magical moment of the summer? Any specific highlights?
