My husband and I are headed to our first holiday party this weekend and it’s just bonkers to me that we are already at that stage of the year. Yes, it’s a little early but as part of my not-hating-winter campaign, I’m embracing the seasons as they come and we are officially in “the holidays”.
Style-wise for this season I’m looking for versatile pieces that I’ll be able to wear now while pregnant but also afterwards. I’d also like to add a third layer of versatility and have pieces that I can wear to holiday parties but also to my office. I have one good option that I’ll wear this weekend but I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for any other contenders that might check all three off my list.
Today, I think I found some winners. This drop waist ruffle dress fits the bill on all three counts. The loose waist can work with the belly now while the long sleeves and higher neckline would make it office worthy although I’d probably add tights especially in winter.
This green Boden dress is another piece that I feel could be an easy work to party staple. Especially since Boden tends to be a bit on the pricier side (this dress is just under $100), I like that it’s a dress that would easily dress up with heels and blingy jewelry for a party but also look in place with flats and a cardigan for the office. You can belt it as well to add some dimension although the princess seam will make sure you always have a figure.
My go-to holiday add ons? Leopard print heels, metallics, and a little red lipstick! This bareMinerals liquid lipstick has been a favorite of mine for years and I can’t wait to start wearing it again this weekend (now if I could just find which purse it’s hiding in).
Are you already getting holiday party prepped or is it still too soon? If you are still waiting for the holidays to start, when is the date you set? After Thanksgiving? December 1st? Let me know in the comments!
