COAT: Nordstrom (for only $40, this is a seriously great coat. It comes in a handful of colors too) // DRESS: old from Seattle’s Lika Love Boutique (very similar here in several neutral colors.) // SHOES: Sam Edelman (this style is old but they’ve come out with a new version this year. They are the perfect heel height for all day wear.) // BAG: Old Navy (this bag has held up surprisingly well for the price. If you’re looking for another affordable option that is a little higher quality, try this reversible option) // SUNGLASSES: Amazon (these are amazing and only $10) // LIPS: Beauty Counter (this is a great little lipstick that gives just a wash of color but tons of hydration)
So one of the side effects of a fall/winter pregnancy that nobody tells you about is that none of your coats will button or zip close. If you read last month’s Life Lately Update, you’ll know that I discovered this problem when we were in Montana and it was snowing. Well for my birthday, Andrew decided to fix that problem for me and got me this new coat. To be totally honest, I found the coat online, sent him the link with my size and color choice but ya know, it ended up in my birthday presents.
However it ended up in my closet, I have been so happy to have this coat. The temperatures dipped into freezing this past week and there was no way I could go about my day without being bundled in my coat. That’s where this thread & supply peacoat comes into action.
The quality is pretty impressive for an affordable fall coat. And have I mentioned the price? It’s only $38! You can rarely find a coat this nice for that little. While granted this isn’t a heavy-duty winter coat, if you live somewhere with mild winters (aka Seattle) you could probably get away with just this coat plus layers for the entire season. Otherwise, this is a great transitional coat. Think fall into winter then again when winter is melting into spring.
I opted for this camel color since my beloved Land’s End coat doesn’t fit this year but it also comes in several other colors. I was tempted by the navy as well as the blush option. There’s even a burgundy option which would be beautiful for the holidays.
I sized up to a large and it still fits over my growing belly with (a little) room to spare. Next year I’ll still be able to wear this coat in the fall and winter and have plenty of space for extra layers underneath. Going up to a large instead of my normal medium means that there is a little extra length in the arms but nothing too noticeable.
As far as the rest of this outfit, remember when I said dresses with boots was probably going to be my staple fall look? Well, here’s another example of that prediction coming true. It’s just a super easy combination that makes for a cute and comfortable fall maternity outfit but, to be completely honest, it’s a great non-maternity look as well. I’m just appreciating the extra comfort right about now.
This dress I picked up a couple of years ago at a local Seattle boutique but I’ve found several similar sweater dresses that are out this year. It’s a timeless style so you might as well pick up a turtleneck sweater dress for yourself if you don’t already have one. They aren’t going out of style any time soon. I think that this option is the closest to the one I have on but I also love this cable knit version (gotta love a cable knit), and this one which is only $40.
These knee-high boots are new to my closet from my latest thrift shopping trip. They are a style from last year but Nordstrom brought them back again this year in suede. I’ve been loving this height of boots this year along with my favorite over the knee boots. Surprisingly I don’t have anything like them in my closet. Plus the heel height is just tall enough to be comfortable walking and standing all day. And you know that’s saying something if this preggo can say that!
Until next time,
Ana Luiza

You are just too cute! Love the color of that dress. You styled it beautifully.
I love the peacoat and think it’s a total classic. Your boots are also perfect for fall!
