Summer has finally arrived in the Pacific Northwest and I couldn’t be happier about it. Sunshine and 70 degrees makes Seattle a pretty fantastic place to spend the summers. We always try to take advantage of the nice weather by eating in our backyard, swinging in the hammock, and spending plenty of time at our local beach.
This year summer is panning out to be a little different from normal with the addition of Teddy and I’m honestly excited about creating new summer memories and traditions as a family of three rather than just me and Andrew. The weekend trip Megan, Jenn, and I took to Pure Peonies was a great way to start off the summer season. I feel like it kind of set a tone for how I want my summer to pan out. Relaxed activities and time outdoors with my favorite people.
Today I’m finally able to share more pictures from that day trip. Honestly going to Houston threw me for a loop since I thought I’d have more downtime. I always think that on family trips but it’s never the case. One day I’ll learn. Ahh well. Here are some details about what I ended up wear for this trip:
Old Navy Yellow Gingham Jumpsuit
As someone who doesn’t live in a climate where it gets really hot (80 degrees is a really hot day in Seattle), I don’t often invest in summer clothing as I’d rather save my pennies for something that I’ll get a ton of use out of, like a new pair of boots or a coat. So I tend to look for summer clothes at places like Old Navy, which is where I found this jumpsuit.
Old Navy has impressed me with their selection this summer. They have a wide selection of linen blend pieces that seem like nice quality for their price. This jumpsuit is one of them and it comes in a variety of prints and patterns. I loved this yellow gingham for summer but it was a tie between yellow gingham and navy with polka dots. This print also comes in a wrap dress and a fit-and-flare style dress.
I’m wearing a small here but I’d say that it runs a little big but I’d say that for most things from Old Navy. My post-pregnancy body is normally a medium where I used to be a size small before I had Teddy except here at Old Navy. For bustier gals, you may have some issues with the sizing. I found that this jumpsuit was significantly roomier on the bottom than on top. I still found it to be exceptionally comfortable regardless of the sizing.
Land of the Pines Straw Monogram Tote
Fellow blogger Cara of Caralina Style blog gifted me this hand-painted monogrammed tote bag last year and she’s back this year with new styles and designs. She’s joined forces with her artistic boyfriend to add painted hats along with clutches and bags to her Etsy shop. You can get painted sunflowers and gingham alongside classic monograms.
Brown Mini Wedge Sandal
These sandals of mine have finally breathed their last breath. They went with me on this last trip to Houston and the sole completely fell off. RIP. I’m going to replace them with these sandals that look nearly identical. They seriously go with everything and are dressed up without looking over the top. That’s why I love traveling with them. It’s easy to go from casual sightseeing to a nicer dinner without needing extra pairs of shoes.
Until next time,
Ana Luiza
