Andrew’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks
I mentioned before that I use the Nordstrom Anniversary sale to annually stock Andrew’s wardrobe. This year is no different and I just placed an order to fill a few gaps in his wardrobe and replace some worn out well-loved favorites.
A few notes on Andrew’s wardrobe: he’s a jeans-and-a-tee shirt kind of guy. He’d wear a plain white tee shirt and jeans every day if he could because it’s easy and he doesn’t have to think about it matching or looking “off” in any sort of way. I buy all his clothes so that he can mix and match at random and always end up looking good without thinking too hard over it. His workplace is fairly casual but since he’s in management he wears button-downs and the occasional sport coat with nice jeans or chinos. Also, everything has to be washer and dryer friendly because if it’s dry-clean only, he won’t wear it (suiting excluded of course).
Why Nordstrom Men’s shop? Because they have brands that cater to his hard to shop for size. Andrew is 6’3”, slender, and all arm and leg. He generally needs medium tall slim fit shirts with a longer than average arm length and inseam. After several years, we’ve landed on a handful of brands that cater to that sort of body type and Nordstrom happens to carry them all. His top favorites are 1901 (Nordstrom in-house brand), Bonobo, Levi’s, and J.Crew for casual clothing and Ted Baker, J.Crew, and Hugo Boss for suiting. Lucky for us, all of these brands are included in the sale!
This year I wanted to get him a couple of new work shirts since some of his favorites are starting to look a little ratty, new jeans, and a couple other odds and ends. Below are some of the items that I ordered for him.
