old WhoWhatWear dress (this is a similar plaid shirtdress. Dresses like these are so nice for the in-between season when it’s too warm for pants but you still want a little fall vibe) // Madewell Loafers (I love these! They are becoming one of my go-to everyday shoes. I sized up half a shoe size) // Old Navy Tote Bag (this is such an affordable tote that I’ve had for years now. This is another really great option) // $10 Sunglasses (because I can’t be trusted with nicer sunglasses)
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it one hundred times but I love summer. I love the sun, the warmth, the long days, and how everyone is just a little more relaxed. However, as I try every year, I’m going to embrace fall and the change of the seasons.
This year, I feel like I actually will succeed since it’s Teddy’s first fall and there are so many new things and experience to introduce him to. It’s really true what they say that you start seeing everything with new eyes once you have a kid. Anyways, I thought that we might share some of the things that we are all excited about this fall. Make sure you let me know yours in the comments!
Five Things I’m Excited About for Fall
1. Teddy’s first fall
Basically I’m going to be dragging Andrew to every cheesy family-themed fall activity. Pumpkin patch, hayrides, apple picking, cider making. Get ready because I am embracing it this year!
2. Baby in a cable knit
One of our family friends knit Teddy the most beautiful cable knit sweater and I think he will finally be able to fit into it later on this fall/winter. It’s this deep emerald green and I know he’s going to look so handsome in it plus some brown or kahki pants. I’m 100% going to be taking matching family photos since both Andrew and I also have green cable knits.
3. NYC!
I’m headed back to New York in a few weeks to visit my family and finally introduce them to Teddy. I know he won’t remember it but taking him to my old stomping grounds means so much to me. I’m just sad that Andrew and Luciana (my bestie) won’t be with us this time 🙁
4. House Renovations
We (ie mostly Andrew) have been working on our house since we bought it in 2015. Well, we have finally decided to tackle the furniture situation. While Andrew cares about redoing the bathroom and kitchen, I’m over here worried about the fung shui of how things look. I’ll get into it in a separate post but the short and sweet of it is that we lived alone separately before we got married and never bought new furniture together since we already had two of everything. This means that everything we own is a mish-mash of secondhand (or 3rd or 4th hand) furniture from our college days via our parents/grandparents/Goodwill. I’m so ready to finally invest some $ into making this place my own personal Pinterest dream home 😉
5. Having Less Scheduled
While our September is already completely booked out (I seriously don’t know how we managed to do that), we don’t have anything on the calendar for October. For the time being, I’m really happy that we will be staying put for a while since November/December will bring holiday craziness (baby’s first everything means we will be in high demand. Mainly Teddy though. Andy and I are just his handlers). I’m sure that a month at home will have me itching to get out of town though.
What are you excited about with the advent of a new season? Are you a diehard fall fan or more of a summer lover? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time,

I love your dress! And Fall is my favorite time of the year for so many reasons. I giggled at your “baby in a cable knit” part! So true…there is nothing cuter than that!

Plaid, flannel and cable knits are all my favorite things for fall! I do love the crisp weather and changing of the leaves too!
