We are a week out from Christmas, can you believe it! I’m starting to get really pumped up for the end of the year. Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays with all the holiday parites back-to-back then New Year’s right afterwards. It’s just so magical no matter what part of the world you’re celebrating in. I’ve spent the holiday season on tropical sandy beaches and in the snowy Rocky Moutain and it’s always such a special time, no matter what.
It’s also Teddy’s first Christmas which is so special. We actually aren’t going crazy around first Christmas kind of stuff for him though. Since he doesn’t really know what’s going on, Andrew and I aren’t worrying about gifts and traditions with him this year. Next year (and all the ones after that) will be a much different story.
However, for all of you who do have kiddos who know what’s up with Santa, I have some good news! You still have time to order gifts online. But after today, that’s it. Today is the order deadline for most retailers to guarantee two-day shipping so that your orders will arrive in time for the 25th. So of course, everyone is celebrating with a sale!
There are a bunch of sales going on right now that all you last-minute holiday shoppers need to know about. Today is also the last day for online ordering if you need to receive orders by the 24th. Several of these stores have online order, in-store pick up available so feel free to fudge shipping deadlines a little bit longer if you want. However, ordering today will make sure that you don’t have to step a foot in-stores during the last-minute rush.
ok, let’s get into it!
Last Minute Sales for Last Minute Shopping
J.Crew
J.Crew is probably the store where I shop the most, both for myself and for Andrew. I love J.Crew because they carry classic style staples that are well made and I will be wearing for years. It’s also great that they have clothing for Andrew that are cut for tall slim shaped men. You’d be amazed how hard it is to find clothes for him that are reasonably priced. For those reasons, I have a bunch of favorites from them, most of which are on sale right now! Today is also the last day to order online and have your order arrive before Christmas
- You’ve heard me rave about these sweater blazers for over a year now. Sophie sweater blazers are a staple in my closet because they are part blazer, part cardigan but 100% amazing! These do run very large. I wear an x-small when I’d normally be a medium in J.Crew sizing. See my full review here
- These tissue turtleneck shirts are another favorite that I wear on repeat all winter and fall. They run TTS and are very fitted. Go up one size if you want it looser. See my full review here
- The long sleeve eyelet top has been my go-to top for botht the summer and the fall. I have it in both yellow and white. It runs a little large. I sized down to a small. This style goes up to size 3x. See my full review here
- New York sweatshirt is a major favorite of mine. It runs TTS and is more fitted than your average sweatshirt but not overly tight. It also comes in ‘Brooklyn’ grey and ‘Nantucket’ pink. See it on me here
- Classic Boy-Fit Button-down – runs TTS and a relaxed fit. I wear a size 6. See it on me here
- Stripe boat neck shirt – runs TTS. I wear a medium and it’s a relaxed loose fit. See it on me here
- Regent blazer – runs TTS but is narrow through the shoulders. I’m wearing a 4 but if you’re broad-shouldered, I’d size up. See it on me here
J.Crew Factory
My other go-to for both mine and Andrew’s clothing is J.Crew Factory for many of the same reasons we shop at J.Crew except to add that the prices are even more discounted. Especially on items that are super popular at J.Crew, Factory will bring them back the next season at a discounted price for slightly lesser quality.
- My number #1 pants for work and travel are the Jamie Pull-On Pants because they are super comfortable and don’t wrinkle. I have a full review of them here.
- They also carry their own tissue turtlenecks which are just as good as the ones from J.Crew
- If you need a winter coat but live in a more temperate climate, these cocoon coats are a great deal (but they aren’t made for full-blown winter)
- If you want a classic blazer but don’t want to pay a fortune, these schoolboy blazers are an amazing find! Here is my full review and pictures of mine in the Blackwatch plaid.
- When I was working in corporate retail these pencil skirts where my day-to-day staple. They come in just about every color under the sun and are perfect for a business casual capsule wardrobe.
Macy’s
I feel like Macy’s is underrepresented in all the holiday shopping chatter online. It’s probably because their online interface isn’t the best but they have so many great gifts and almost always have a sale going on. From clothing to kitchen appliances to bedding, they really do have it all. Remember that Macy’s is one of the stores with online order, in-store pick up available to you. Just make sure that it’s same day pickup.
- Charter Club cashmere sweaters are exclusive to Macy’s, are my go-to cashmere sweaters, and are on sale for $40 today (whhhaaatttt).
- Right now they also have amazing deals on the Martha Stewart line of cookware, which would be an incredible gift for a homemaker or new homeowner.
- I own this leopard print midi skirt (see it on me here) and love it to pieces. They have new prints available and on sale
- The best deal on Nespresso coffee machines is here at Macy’s. I’ve seen it as low as $99 (unheard of) but right now it looks like the machines are about $124, which is 60% off and nothing to scoff at.
- Macy’s has a huge Ralph Lauren line including Ralph Lauren Kids, which is how I’d exclusively dress Teddy if I had my way. Designer for kids? I know but they are always so discounted that it’s the same price of clothes you’d find at Target (more preppy baby boy clothes here)
- I used to find the best deals on Tommy Hilfiger at my local Macy’s. I haven’t looked for a while but I bet you could find some incredibly preppy pieces for near to nothing
Nordstrom
Obviously Nordstrom is a major go-to for me when it comes to holiday gifts for people in my inner circle. I have an entire Nordstrom gift guide solely focused on finding gifts for the people closest to you.
- I haven’t stopped wearing these Blondo Waterproof Boots since I got them for my birthday last month. They are rain, snow, and slush proof so if you live somewhere with cold wet winters (I’m looking at you Seattle), you need these! I’ll have a whole review out soon but please do yourself a favor and get them while they are 50% OFF!!!! They also have an ankle boot style that is on sale
- Now is a great time to get Hunter Boots on sale, which rarely happens. Both the Original Tall style and the Tour Packable styles are on sale and marked as “Arrive in time for Christmas”.
- I just reviewed the Commando faux leather leggings and they are also available but sadly not on sale.
- This Patagonia pullover is available for both men and women and makes a fantastic gift. I gave one to my mom several years ago that she still wears and loves.
- My newest winter trench coat is on sale for 50% off and is such a great find! It has a quilted liner so it’s wearable in colder weather.
- Obviously Nordstrom’s beauty department has a giant selection of beauty gift sets and lux gifts
Old Navy
Old Navy is a store that has online order, in-store pickup for the win! They are also a great spot to get items for the whole family all in one place. I’ve recently discovered their activewear line and, holy moly, it’s fantastic and so affordable! Plus they are almost always having a sale these days. Right now everything is up 60% off.
- The Elevate 7/8 Compression Leggings have been my best find of the year! Plenty of support for high impact workouts, they come in a bunch of colors and prints and are available in several different inseams. Plus they are “squat proof”.
- They also have a nice selection of workout tees and tanks. I really like these tie back styles and have them in a couple of colors.\
- The Rockstar skinny jeans are my affordable go-to jeans. They come in low, mid, and high rises as well as petite and tall inseams. I wrote a full review of them here.
- Most of my maternity clothing came from Old Navy. It was the only place where the prices are decent as well as the quality.
- Of course, you can’t mention Old Navy this time of year without mentioning their matching Christmas pajamas for the whole family.
Sephora
Sephora is all about gift sets galore! They have so many great options for small stocking stuffers and smaller product sets. You can also go all out for the beauty lover in your life if you know that they have a brand that they lovelovelove!
- The ultimate gift from Sephora would be the Dyson Airwrap set. It took the market by storm earlier this year but comes with a hefty price tag
- There are a bunch of clean haircare sets on sale for the holiday. This would be a great way to let someone dip a toe into clean beauty.
- This Living Proof Dry Shampoo is a best seller year after year. You could slip this travel-sized duo into a stocking
- A larget gift set like this one from Fresh is easy to break up into individual gifts for all your girlfriends
