What I’m Giving as Gifts this Year

Honey & Hank Napkins // 1901 Dress Shirt // Hydro Flask Water Bottle // Barefoot Dreams Cardigan // Theo Chocolate Gift Box // Philips Round Razor // Epic Bike Rides of the Americas // Yeti Mug // Wire Cutter-Stripper

Phew! You guys, Cyber Weekend wore me out. Between last-minute travel for Thanksgiving, trying to keep on top of all the latest and greatest sales then sharing them with you guys, and doing my own holiday shopping, I feel like I need another weekend to recover from my weekend. What is all that about?!

But I’m not here to complain to you today. I wanted to share a major win with you guys and a little about my own personal holiday shopping. I’m so excited to say that I’m done with all things holiday shopping for this year. I didn’t use to be this organized. I was the person running out the week before Christmas looking for gifts after the shipping deadlines had passed (it’s the 19th this year btw). That’s part of the reason why I wrote those Really Last Minute Gift Guides. I needed them for myself.

However, I’ve found that all the last-minute running around is really stressful and detracts from the reason for the season. So last year after I finished mailing out our Christmas cards on December 26th (yeah, it was that bad), I decided that next year would be different. So here we are. It’s the first week of December and everything is done. Gifts are purchased and wrapped, Christmas cards are being mailed out, and all that’s left is to spend the holiday season making memories with my favorite people.

Some things that have made it easier. Both our families are doing gift exchanges rather than traditional gift-giving. I’m getting a gift around $50 for each of those then one or two small things for the people in my innermost circle. I also have been thinking about people in my life and making a note in my phone any time I see/think of a nice gift idea for them. This way Cyber Weekend rolled around and I already had a decent idea of what and where I was going to be shopping.

What’s your general strategy for holiday shopping? Do you order everything online? Are you part of the last-minute rush? Plan everything out months in advance? Let me know. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to repeat my strategy for years to come.

What I’m Giving As Gifts This Year

Lonely Planet Epic Bike Rides of the Americas

Such a cool coffee table book that is also quite functional for the cycler in your life. Lonely Planet maps out all the spots that an outdoorsman might like to see on their travels. Also comes in ‘The World’ Edition as well as Epic Runs, Epic Hikes, and Epic Drives.

Hydro Flask 40oz Wide Mouth Waterbottle
For the serious members of hydration nations! Just kidding, but this 40-ounce water bottle means that you’ll only have to refill it once to get your required amount of water per day. Consider getting the straw lid as well and adding it into their stocking as a little teaser.
Barefoot Dreams Cardigan

Nordstrom teased that this cardigan will be part of their Cyber Sale and it’s still on sale! Seriously these will likely sell out as they are so soft and warm but also oh so popular and rarely go on sale.

1901 Men’s Dress Shirt

These are Andrew’s go-to dress shirts for work. Every time they go on sale (about 2-3 times a year) I try and replace one or two of his older ones that have seen a lot of love.

Theo Chocolate

My favorite chocolate always makes its way into some stockings. Theo Chocolate has really tasty seasonal flavors that they sell in bundles on their online store as well as on Amazon and in Whole Foods.

Philips Electric Shaver

The latest and greatest iteration of the Philips electric round razor. Perfect for the man in your life who loves the closest freshest clean shave possible.

Craftsman Wire Stripper

You can see that I’m working off a specific list for a specific someone with this gift. Whenever Andrew mysterious individual says “it would be nice to have____”, I immediately write down that item in my phone for later. It makes getting gifts for this individual REALLY easy.

Honey & Hank Napkins

These are the cutest cloth napkins you’ve ever seen! They use all 50 states outlines to create a hydrangea print in either blue or pink. They have specific states as well if you want to get something really personal.

Yeti Mug

I got one of these for Andrew for his birthday and it’s totally worth the money! It keeps coffee piping hot for hours. He loves the mug version but I prefer the tumbler ($30) because it fits into standard cup holders.
