Wearing sneakers with dresses has become quite a trend over the past few years. It started with the “cool fashion girls” but has slowly seeped its way into the mainstream and now into my life. Well, I’ve tried it and I’m 100% on board! Why didn’t I try this sooner? I don’t know.
While I love a pointed toe flat for a dressed up feminine look even just with jeans, wearing sneakers even with a dress is casual, comfortable, and much more realistic with my current stage in life. Running around after Teddy isn’t going to happen in heels but I can keep up with that kid in sneakers, no problem! And now current fashion trends have decided that it’s totally acceptable and stylish to wear all my favorite dresses with sneakers. I can safely say that the white sneakers and dress outfit combo is here to stay!
But what sneakers am I wearing?
I’m wearing the Cole Haan GrandPro tennis shoe. I tried them on for the first time last autumn and was AMAZED at how lightweight they were. Like the box almost felt like it was empty. And they are also super comfortable. I knew this had to be the case when a handful of New York City Ballet dancers signed on to be their ambassadors. They are a little on the pricey side but they do go on sale a couple of times throughout the year. That’s when I snagged these! I’d gush more but I’ll save it for the full in-depth review that’s going live later this week.

- Cole Haan GrandPro ($130) – These are the ones that I’m wearing. I can’t tell you how comfortable they are. Actually, I can and have an entire review is coming later this week!
- Trenton Nylite ($75 but on sale for $53) – These are a canvas blast from the past. You can choose from all-white styles to a little bit of color on the logo.
- Frye Ivy ($197 but on sale for $129) – These are all leather and I’ve only heard amazing things about them. Frye is all about quality and longevity so you’ll have these ones for years without them wearing out. (More sizes here)
- Adidas Stan Smith ($80 but on sale for $63) – It’s a classic especially if you don’t mind a little color on the heels. I used to have a pair of these and liked them. So much that I got a pair for Teddy too!
- Veja Esplar ($120) – These are the sneakers that I’ve been seeing all over the internet. Everyone from “cool girls” to toddlers and men seem to be wearing them all of a sudden
