It’s no secret that I love gingham. If you search “gingham” here on NorthwestBlonde is turns up with eight pages of results. It’s a classic and preppy print that makes me think of summer and trips to the beach. I wear it a lot so I wanted to share eight ways that you can too. I’m sharing everything from gingham accessories to gingham pants.
Where to find gingham pieces? Retailers that specialize in preppy are going to be your best bet but you can find them anywhere. I personally think the J.Crew, J.Crew Factory, Boden, and Vineyard Vines are good starting points but honestly, you can find gingham just about anywhere.
You can see some of my favorite gingham pieces below!
8 Different Ways to Wear Gingham
Old Navy Linen Jumpsuit in Yellow Gingham (This is so breezy and comfortable. I’m wearing a size small) // similar Denim Jacket // similar Straw Sun Hat // similar Brown Wedge Sandals (These are old from Payless R.I.P but I think that these are very similar and I may go ahead and order them as replacements) // Land of the Pine Straw Monogram Tote (Fellow blogger Cara of Caralina Styles hand paints these straw totes and clutches with your choice of colors and monogram. She and her bf just joined forces to open their new Etsy Shop with various hand-painted items, all adorable and preppy)
similar tote bag (mine is from J.Crew a couple of years ago. They are now carrying other prints that are too cute. POlka dots, camo, leopard print, dip-dyed, you name it)
Boden Richmond 7 / 8 Pants (Also available here. This print isn’t available anymore but they do come in a bunch of other colors including pink gingham. J.Crew has a very similar pair of gingham pants in blue and pink) // Old Navy chambray button-up (if you need an affordable chambray, this is a great option. I wear mine all the time) // old Michael Kors heels (these are the newer version from Michael Kors but these are also very similar) // Prada bag (I got this bag via Fashionphile which is my go-to for used designer. I have a whole post about how I invest in designer bags here)
Boden Richmond 7 / 8 Pants (Also available here. This print isn’t available anymore but they do come in a bunch of other colors including pink gingham. J.Crew has a very similar pair of gingham pants in blue and pink) // old J.Crew tee shirt (the new version of this shirt has a lace sleeve edge while mine is old and has eyelet sleeves. Old Navy has a version that is very similar to my eyelet version) // J.Crew Sweater Blazer (Yes, I know I can’t stop talking about this sweater blazer but it’s THAT good! You need it in your life. I have it in three colors, just saying) // old Jeffrey Campbell slingbacks (these are pretty similar and they come in pink) // Prada bag (I got this bag via Fashionphile which is my go-to for used designer. I have a whole post about how I invest in designer bags here)
similar gingham jacket // Old Navy Button Down // Paige Verdugo Ankle Jeans (my favorite designer denim. They fit like a glove and don’t even feel like denim they are so soft)
SHIRT: old J.Crew (This is a sweet white tee that I’ve had for several years. They came out with a new version this year with lace sleeves instead of eyelet) // CARDIGAN: J.Crew c/o (This is a nice staple cardigan for all you ladies who get cold often. I have one of these that used to live at my office during the summer when the AC was blasting. This style comes in a couple of different colors as well as without the eyelet cutouts. I’m wearing a medium.) // SKIRT: J.Crewc/o (I love these pencil skirts and have them in several colors. They fit true to size and have a little give in them so you don’t feel like you’ve been poured into it. They are a staple in my work wardrobe all year round. This exact print also comes in blue gingham. I’m wearing a size 4.) // SHOES: Jeffrey Campbell (I love these flats but they do slip off my heels for the first 20 minutes of wearing them. These seem like they’d be similar and also come in several cute prints)// BAG: Prada (Again, this is a designer item that I purchased second hand. I love Fashionphile for second-hand designer handbags as they can authenticate them and always have very reasonable prices)// SUNGLASSES: Amazon (These are some of the only sunglasses I own because for $10 they can’t be beat. Especially by someone notorious for sitting on and breaking sunglasses.)
Sweater Blazer (runs very big. I’m wearing an XS) // Blue Check Button Down (runs TTS. I’m wearing a 6. It’s really soft thin material) // Pull-on pants (these are THE BEST pants for work and travel because they are really comfortable and don’t wrinkle. I have an entire review here) // similar leopard print shoes // affordable tote bag (this bag has held up pretty well considering the price. This is a nicer alternative for only a couple more dollars)
similar gingham jacket // Old Navy shorts // Amazon Sunglasses (These are some of the only sunglasses I own because for $10 they can’t be beat. Especially by someone notorious for sitting on and breaking sunglasses.) // Prada handbag (this is a designer item that I purchased second hand. I love Fashionphile for second-hand designer handbags as they can authenticate them and always have very reasonable prices) // old Jeffrey Campbell slingbacks (these are pretty similar and they come in pink)
