This past week, the blog has been running on auto-pilot as Teddy and I got acclimated here in Montana. Yes, we abandoned ship from Seattle and made the nine-hour drive over to my in-law’s place in Montana.
Why leave Seattle? Well, you can probably guess.
For the past five months of quarantining, it’s been just the two of us (Andrew’s job was labeled as essential work) and that has taken a toll. I’m sure I’m speaking to the choir when I say that. We were planning on sticking it out for the rest of the summer but when talk of secondary lockdowns started, schools went all online for Fall 2020, and we got shammed off a playground all happened in one week, I had a meltdown. Andrew floated the idea past me and I snatched it up.
While many things are still closed in Seattle (and possibly shutting down again), here in Montana the playgrounds are open and the number of COVID cases are very low. We are still taking precautions of course to always wear masks while we’re out and we’ll be here for the recommended 14 days before getting together with the rest of the family.
I know I am so privileged to have this opportunity! Please don’t think that I take it lightly. We are doing our utmost to protect ourselves and others while we have this opportunity to get out of the city for the month.
I’m excited to share some of our adventures with you. We’ve already been able to do so much while still keeping our distance from other people, which isn’t as easy in the city.
So for now, I’ll wish you a wonderful weekend and take myself off to bed. Tomorrow we are going berry picking ? Well I’ll be picking Ted will probably just be eating.
