It’s that time of year again, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is coming!
While Nordstrom normally holds the sale in July, with Covid-19 they pushed it back into August. I imagine that the sale will look a little bit different this year given Covid-19 precautions and the store wanting to limit crowd sizes. Good thing that we can all shop online from the comfort and safety of our homes!
Annually people freak the eff out over the Anniversary sale. Granted there is a lot to be excited about with the Anniversary Sale. However, I want to start this NSale season by being fully transparent with you guys.
Many bloggers, present company included, share so much about the Nordstrom sale because it’s a HUGE moneymaker for us. Nordstrom via affiliate networks pays upwards of 10% commission during the sale. This means that if you click on a link here on NorthwestBlonde and end up making a purchase through that link, I make a 10% or so commission on your final sale total. During the sale, my affiliate income spikes much like it does during the holiday season.
I shared more about affiliate networks on this post and on the Fine Print page which you can find here. But in a nutshell, your clicking on links and shopping via my blog helps make me money so it’s in my best interest to be as helpful as possible for you ladies. At the same time, I don’t want to beat you over the head with it and to be even more honest, I’m not a huge shopper and will probably only buy a couple, as in one or two, things for myself and maybe a handful of other things for Andrew and Teddy.
Finally, if you do end up shopping the Anniversary Sale or for anything through the links here on NorthwestBlonde, thank you! You are directly supporting me and this blog every time you click. I appreciate it so much because I know that you have so many options, especially when it comes to things like the Anniversary Sale.
So knowing all of that, let’s jump into the details behind the NSale!
Why Shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
First things first. Why do people care so much about the Anniversary sale? Well, Nordstrom makes an annual splash by marking down all their brand new, never before seen fall inventory BEFORE the season even starts. This means you can save money by shopping for fall now rather than waiting until the end of the season when things are normally marked down. It ends up being a double win. You get to save money AND wear your new fall clothes all season long.
Another reason to shop the sale is that a lot of higher price point items and brands that don’t normally go on sale are included. Annually Nordstrom rolls out designer denim and designer handbags at steep discounts.
Who Can Shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
Anyone in the US and now Canada (more on that in a moment) can shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. That being said, Nordstrom cardmembers do get first access. You can apply for either a Nordstrom debit or credit card here. But let me reiterate, you DO NOT NEED a Nordstrom card to shop the sale. Personally, I’m not a Nordstrom cardholder and I’ve never had any issues getting my hands on hot-ticket items as they restock before public access starts.
In big news, the Anniversary Sale is coming to Canada this year! The dates are slightly different than in the US but all my readers north of the border can shop from August 19–September 3, at Nordstrom.ca! To learn more, go to nordstrom.ca/anniversary.
When is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The sale spans several weeks with a preview that started on Friday, July 24th.
All cardmembers can shop Early Access starting August 13. You can shop earlier depending on your cardholder status (ie how much money you spend at Nordstrom annually).
The Anniversary Sale officially opens to the public on August 19 and lasts until the 30th. The sale ends and prices go up August 31.
What Can We Expect From You During the Anniversary Sale?
Here’s my plan for Anniversary sale coverage. I’m planning on sharing affordable, timeless pieces that I think are worth the money. I’ll probably have one post each for my picks, Andrew’s favorites, kid and baby products (not a category I shopped in the past). I also like to highlight items in the sale that I already own and use regularly. If you want to see anything else from me, please don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know!
Will you be shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary sale this year?
