One more Anniversary Sale post to start off your weekend. This time we’re tackling the men in our lives. I shop for Andrew’s wardrobe as needed throughout the year and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of the times that I like to take advantage to update his clothes as needed.
Why now? Well, Andrew has a bit of a hard to shop for body type. He’s tall and lanky, all arm and leg. We’ve found a handful of brands that fit his frame really well and Nordstrom happens to carry all of them (win!) So anytime they are on sale, I try to take advantage.
The brands that fit him best at Nordstrom:
- Bonobo
- 1901 (slim fit)
- Hugo Boss
- J.Crew
- TopMan
- Ted Baker
So I took a look at the sale and simply filter by these brands and his size. It makes wading through all the products so much easier!
SHIRTS & PANTS
Sadly I didn’t see any of Andrew’s favorite dress shirts included in the sale. But also #Coronavirus so who is wearing dress shirts anyways?
1901 Henley Tee – A great casual shirt for every day. These come in five different colorways
Nordstrom Men’s Shop Cashmere Crewneck – These are a splurge but they are currently under $100. They are great on their own or over a dress shirt
Bonobo Chino Shorts – Bonobo has great quality pants that fit Andrew’s frame really nicely. These shorts are simple but probably pretty comfortable and easy to wear.
Bonobo Slim Fit Chinos – Andrew has three or so pairs of these. They fit him really well and they come in a bunch of colors. They are nicer than jeans but can be disguised as dress pants too.
COATS & SWEATERS
North Face Down Fill Jacket – This is a winter jacket
North Face Hooded Jacket – This is a similar jacket but it’s lighter weight and made more specifically for rain. Andrew has this one and wears it all winter long.
Patagonia Nano Puff Vest – This is the vest version of a jacket Andrew already has. It’s lightweight, warm, and water-resistant.
Patagonia Retro Snap Pullover – I wanted to include this because it’s a blast from the past that Patagonia has brought back. I’m pretty sure that my dad had one of these in the 80’s/90’s and I’m tempted to get him another one.
Patagonia Better Sweater Quarter-zip – This is the sweater I can’t stop talking about. It’s real comfortable and cozy and the whole family can match. They make this exact sweater for men, women, and kids.
BACKPACKS
Herschel Pop Quiz Backpack – A standard backpack but with all the features you’d expect from Herschel. It’s under $50 which makes it a great find. They’ll hopefully do a restock before the sale opens to the public.
Herschel Little America Backpack – This is a super popular backpack that is part of the sale. It comes both pink and black if you want matching packs.
Herschel Travel Daypack – This looks like a great option for commuters. It’s a bit smaller but still has a sleeve for tech.
SHOES
Adidas Stan Smith – A timeless classic on sale. Only the all-white version is part of the sale.
Veja Sneakers – These are the “it” sneakers of the moment. If you’ve been trying to get your hands on a pair at a discount, try these. They are sure to sell out but watch for re-stocks before the sale opens to the public
Cole Haan GrandPro – These are the men’s version of my favorite sneakers. Super comfortable and without too many frills. They don’t often go on sale but are under $100 during the Anniversary Sale.
Sperry Original Boat Shoes – These don’t often go on sale but if you wanted a pair for your man, now is a great time to pick up a pair for him at a discount. They are a classic that will last him years and are actually functional on boats
Ecco Dress Loafers – Andrew has an older version of these dress loafers. He’s had them for years and they have held up really well. Occasionally they need a polish then they look brand new again.
