J.Crew V-neck cardigan sweater // Old Navy tee shirt (I find that activewear tees are the best for everyday) // Abercrombie jeans (these are stretchy and comfortable enough to wear while running after a toddler plus they’re under $100. I get the short inseam for a cropped look) // similar tote bag // J.Crew leopard headband (I have a big head and it doesn’t squeeze at all!) // Skinny hoop earrings // Chanel flats (These ‘Kiki’ flats are a much more affordable alternative)
Happy Monday friends! I hope you had a good weekend. I was able to get out of the house and meet up with my girlfriends. After a week of smoke followed by days of sideways rain, it’s safe to say that Ted and I were ready for some time apart. It’s always nice to see the girls, wear a faceful of makeup, and have some adult conversation. Sadly the party ended early when sideways rain started and nobody wanted to get drenched.
Today I wanted to share this new J.Crew cardigan that I got over Labor Day weekend. I shared it as one of the pieces from their fall 2020 drop that I was interested in testing out and overall I like it. Especially for a year like 2020 when everything is a little more relaxed and casual, this chunky cardigan is a nice addition to my wardrobe. I’ve been wearing it both with jeans and tee shirts, like today, but also over dresses as an added layer.
As far as sizing, I went down to a small when I’d normally wear a medium in J.Crew clothing. Since the fit is more cropped and boxy, I guessed that it would be slightly oversized compared to regular sizing. I’m glad that I went down from my regular size as it was indeed a wee bit oversized. My friend Asa actually had the same problem and needed to go down down a size in this v-neck cardigan.
Another note about fit, the fit is pretty boxy but the sleeves are cropped as well. Personally, I love this. I’m forever rolling and cuffing sleeves. It’s available in camel (this color), grey, black, leopard print, and b/w striped.
I’ve been seeing a lot of people wearing cardigans as shirts recently and this is definitely a trend I can get behind. Andrew was actually making fun of me for doing this in the spring with thinner cardigans. You could probably go down two sizes with this cardigan and get a similar look for fall. I’ll probably try it once or twice before the season is over. Until tomorrow guys! xo – Ana Luiza
