Happy Monday all! I hope you had a good weekend. Andrew and I had a date night on Saturday and it was absolutely lovely. We didn’t do anything spectacular but it was such a great time. We ran errands, walked on the downtown waterfront, got veggie burgers, and just hung out together. The only downside was that it was so incredibly foggy all weekend so there wasn’t much in the way of views from the water.
Since we were going out on a date I got all dressed up, hair, makeup, outfit, the works. It’s not something I do every day in the year of our Lord 2020, but it made me feel so pretty and more put together than I had felt for a while. I had a similar experience earlier last week too.
I know most of us aren’t getting dressed up these days but last week when I wore this dress, I felt amazing! I was super productive, checking everything off my list. It’s amazing how just making a little bit of effort to get out of my workout gear has me feeling like a new woman. And this is such an easy fall dress outfit. This dress is old but this one from Leith is a cult favorite among influencers and Instagrammers alike. It’s partly because the ruching makes this fitted dress much more forgiving but also because you can wear it in the warmer months as well. I’d highly recommend this as a fall dress to wear with boots but it looks great with flats too.
My cardigan is the same one from J.Crew that I’ve been talking about for several weeks now. It’s boxy and a little cropped but nice for throwing over simple outfits to make them a little cozier. Here’s another way to wear this cardigan with just a simple jeans and tee-shirt outfit.
My boots are also oldies but stay in style year after year. There are three great options out there this year if you are looking for the same slouchy boots and with a dress look. J.Crew has a beautiful pair but they are pretty pricey but they’ll likely go on sale in a week or so. Free People also has the ‘Grayson’ tall boots that are very similar in price and looks. Finally, Madewell has brought back the Carlotta this year. This one has a lower heel if you want a more walking-friendly pair.
