Happy Election Day!
It feels like too momentous a day to share anything as small or as inconsequential as fashion, style, or gift guides. Tomorrow we can get back to those things but today feels different and it would be wrong to now acknowledge it. There’s a restless, tense feeling in the air that is quite pronounced especially when you go on social media. And if I’m being totally honest, I just can’t focus enough to write anything eloquent about this current moment in time we are living through.
Here in the state of Washington, we have all mail-in voting so there is no going and waiting in line or finding local polling places. We received our ballots in the mail several weeks ago, filled them out at our kitchen table, then mailed them back. So in a sense, we are a little removed from the process the rest of the country goes through for elections.
That being said, Andrew and I are planning on staying up to watch the returns. It’s another benefit of living on the West Coast that we won’t have to stay up all that late but I have a feeling it’s still going to be a late night.
Since it was my birthday yesterday, we are simply carrying over the celebrations tonight. I’m planning on making a cheese board, opening a bottle of champagne, and “doom scrolling” on Twitter while channel surfing between CNN, WaPost Live, and Fox News.
I’ll see you on the flip side friends.
